My name is Sean O'Connell I am all new to the home sim thing and did a lot of study on this. I am a commercial pilot and I'am flying ATR42,43,72. I am in the process of building my own ATR72-500 sim as I know all the gen of the aircraft and being flying it for the last three years. I will need all the help I can get from building the PCB's to the programming of it.
I am looking into to FSbus project but can not find where to get all the info on building the different boards myself. If anyone can help please let me know. I just build myself a cnc machine and can do most of the stuff myself.
Kind regards
Sean O'Connell

Hi Sean, welcome :)
in UK you can buy very cheap panels. Step by step. ( They are so cheap, no need of cnc for most stuff.)
Look here a little around, last week there were a post with the http from the UK shop...
What flysim do you use?
Do you have any experience with building panel?
Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris
I am using Flight Simulator X Deluxe Edition. I bought the ATR add on for the sim as I will be building an ATR72-500.
I am looking for the hardware to connect everything to the PC. I looked into Open Cockpits diff cards and what is nice about them is that all the diff cards are there with all the PCB design files and software for programming the chips. I then looked into the FSBUS cards and it looks like it's not as complicated as the Open Cockpit cards to build. The Open Cockpit cards are more for getting them made as for DIY. But the problem is I can not find the documents and designs for all the diff FSBUS cards.
If you could help please?
Kind Regards
Sean

Hello Pilot Sean.
Nice to see a new CNC guy on the forum.
I may be able to help you with some of the OpenCockpits stuff
as I’m following more or less the same route as you though a different A/C.
I’m right now somewhat off track building my second CNC – this time a real beast ;-)
BTW – not all the OC hardware is free and open, like the new Output cards which is a pity :-(
Another thing is it seems you’re recently registered here so I suggest you
take a deep dive all over this and other relevant places to read up on misc. topics.
Nothing worse than starting off in “wrong” direction, then make one or more restarts.
Good planning is the answer.....
