You are missing the Simconnect.xml file. Check this thread.

Think this will help you.

Was missing the simconnect.xml, created it and voila! Thanks :D
Hey matey,
To create the .xml did you just copy the data form the link provided and use notepad to save as an .xml file then put into the right directory?
Just want to get this right!
Cheers
Doug
Yes that's right Doug.
Curious re sidestick for Airbus. See over on Fslabs site you were keen on a DIY sidestick. Did you pursue that.

Hey Les, tahnks for the reply, appreciated...
As for the side stick, well i was trying to but nothing had eventuated at this stage... i had a wee look over at the FSlabs page and see some activity but nothing has been done or set in full motion as yet...
I may still try and do something in NZ if i can get a hold of a pattern or model... 3d printing seems to be the go now anywhere eh!

Alos, my throttle is based on the working and mechanism of the Logitech Attack 3...i am also wanting to use the Logitech attack 3 as my side stick but cant calibrate it... i wonder if you can have 2 of the same joysticks installed?
When I had that error if I unticked the box the error did not occur. As soon as I put that file in ticking or unticking it
no further errors happened. Have you made sure the xml is in the correct place.
Re the joystick, don't think you can have two installed thru windows. However with paid version of FSUIPC you can.
It will automatically switch to the joystick that changes.
Les
Try and copy JL text from the link I gave you and over write the old one.

Hi Doug,
Do you have both FSX and P3D installed? or two versions of P3D installed?

Hi Doug,
Do you have both FSX and P3D installed? or two versions of P3D installed?
HI JH,
No..only P3D 2.2 installed... with a dummy FSX.exe in the root folder.... no other version of P3D installed? Do you think i should remove the "dummy" FSX.exe to trial it? I recall having to use that method to make some other things work?
Thanks for your help, a great wonderful program!
The only reason i am trying to figure this out is that soon i will be adding another PC and believe that there will be issues with the networking if the 'home base' PC is seen as a remote one... is that right?

If you only have P3D V2 installed, the dummy FSX.exe is not a concern. If the content of the simconnect is correct, also the networking should not be a concern either.
I'll try to find out why this happens anyway...

Thanks JL appreciate that..
I am sure it must be me as many other users don't have this issue..
Let me know if you need any info about my system or files i have... suffice to say should be pretty standard...
Appreciate your help!

Hi JL,
Any ideas as yet why i cant see my main PC with out the network error?
Have tried and continue to try things but still no joy...
Of interest i have deleted the simconnect.xml file and replaced it with the one you have shown to be sure there were no errors...
Now after running P3D the simconnect.xml gets renamed to "old" and the new .xml file is like this
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0">
<Descr>SimConnect</Descr>
<Filename>SimConnect.xml</Filename>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<SimConnect.Comm>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Protocol>IPv4</Protocol>
<Scope>global</Scope>
<Address>192.168.1.2</Address>
<MaxClients>64</MaxClients>
<Port>9017</Port>
<MaxRecvSize>4096</MaxRecvSize>
<DisableNagle>true</DisableNagle>
</SimConnect.Comm>
<SimConnect.Comm>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Protocol>IPv4</Protocol>
<Scope>local</Scope>
<Address>127.0.0.1</Address>
<MaxClients>64</MaxClients>
<Port>9017</Port>
<MaxRecvSize>4096</MaxRecvSize>
<DisableNagle>true</DisableNagle>
</SimConnect.Comm>
<SimConnect.Comm><Disabled>False</Disabled><Protocol>IPv4</Protocol><Scope>global</Scope><Address>192.168.1.98</Address><MaxClients>64</MaxClients><Port>9017</Port><MaxRecvSize>4096</MaxRecvSize><DisableNagle>True</DisableNagle></SimConnect.Comm></SimBase.Document>
Is there anything wrong with this?
If i don't have the .xml in the folder it does not generate one
My actual simConnect.dll file is named simconnectP3D2.dll in the modules folder... would this make any difference?
I also re-ran the simconnect.msi files (SP1 and 2) to see if it would help... no joy
Cheers

Hello,
Thinking about that, I have the case where everything was correctly configured but network still did not want to work.
To solve that, the user had to change the "type of network connection" seen by windows from public to private or something like that. It was under the "network and sharing center" options, not so easy to notice.
This is an option you usually set on the first connection to your network/internet and usually people set the restrictive option.

Thanks JL,
On Win 7 i have the option of the network set to Home Network as opposed to Work Network or Public Network...
Ill fiddle with some settings in there to see if that makes a difference..
Thanks for trying to help and thorouhghly enjoying the software!
Cheers
Doug
