I've finally setup a second computer, and have offloaded most of the computing, speeding up the 'scenery generator' or P3D.
Here is the issue -- it looks like all potentiometers which I have wired up to a Leo Bodnar card (pluged into USB), and the joystick has to be run on the P3D or 'server' computer. This presents an issue because I would like to segregate the server machine from the MIP and don't want USB cables running to the computer.
Has anyone tried a 'remote' USB program such as the USB/IP project -- http://usbip.sourceforge.net/
Or USB for remote desktop ? http://www.usb-over-network.com/usb-for-remote-desktop.html

This would allow you to keep all peripheries centralized on one computer.
Thanks, and would appreciate some advice.
