Finally here!

I sold my BenQ W1080ST because I didn't want the hassle with mounting. I also wanted the projector for 'cinema night', or movie night -- with the diminutive size, it is possible to move and setup in minutes.

Thats amazing, Ben! Thanks for sharing. Are you planning to use two of them creating a 180° (or more) visual?

Regards,
Stephan

Perhaps in the future Stephen, it's happily sitting in the TV room now :)

Some further experiments -- 180 wrap around with one projector?

Hello, I've decided to experiment with Immersive designer pro.

Space restrictions so I decided to try a wrap around screen (180 degrees) with a radius of 1.2 m.

The screen will tightly wrap around the MIP.

Plugging in values for the projector into Immersive designer pro (1920x1080p projector, 0.29 throw ratio, etc), and rotating 2 of the projectors, I get the following (attached). I think the only thing that will need adjusting is the Y offset (it throws above the projector)

Note, it looks like I will have mount it to ceiling if you want to get a true 180 degrees with 2 projectors! Perhaps with three you can just leave it on the floor.

More experimenting and brainstorming to be done.

Appended --
Placed the projector 120 cm from the wall and the image is about 70 cm Y offset. Obviously the closer the projector is to the wall, the smaller the Y offset. There will need to be trade off between how far you want the projector to be from the screen and the vertical offset.

Hi Ben,

Did you finally manage to use the PF1000U on a curved screen display?

Thanks!

Luis

Hi Luis, I've switched over to a Optoma GT1080Darbee.

I believe Christian from Vier Im Pott uses short throw projector and he has implemented it successfully.
