Hi all,
At last, after many months of development and testing, the new version is available!
http://www.jeehell.org/A320FMGS_B46.0.exe
or use the auto udpater.
What's new:
-Completely reworked LNAV and VNAV. MCDU predictions should be much better, as well as DES computations and tracking.
-Reworked the RNAV approaches.
-Completely reworked ND route display.
-Reworked flight model.
-Reworked many FMA modes arming/engaging
-Corrected FSUIPC Mode C bug with IVAP/vPilot
-Sovled many FPLN entry/revision bugs
-Added a direct sim1.dll fuel flow and friction fix (in a FSX/P3D addon module called simpatcher.dll, you must allow this module to run). You do not need FSUIPC for the friction fix.
-Added engine and airframe icing simulation. Icing is detected only when you use AS16 or ASN (I do not trust the FSX/P3D icing model). The effect will be maximum N1 reduction (to simulate lower thrust, this may change on future implemntation), and a revolutionnary technique to reduce lift/increase drag (this techinque is not used by anyone else yet, as far as I know. It directly works on the coefficient of lift/drag of the model, not a simulated wright addition or spoilers extension).
-Solved some hardware trim issues
-Reworked spoilers system (smoother effect, less abrupt when only small amount of spoilers are out)
-Added ISIS initialisation sequence.
-Reworked ISIS speed/altitude tape font size
-Added software interface panels for : THR LVR, SPLRs, FLAPS, ACPs, LDG GEAR.
-Corrected some issues in EHID modules, and added individual calibration features for all potentiometers.
-Corrected a few ECAM warnings which were not correct
-Corrected an issue with some lower overhead variables in SIOC module overwriting other variables.
-Added joystick POV buttons support. Those will work only on momentary buttons (i.e. not on toggle switches like lights)
-Added sound for AP solenoid engagement (same sound for now as the relay clacking, but the sound file can be changed later for a better sound, if anyone can provide it).
-Implemented a better magnetic variation model inside the software. This should improve accuracy on procedures (coherent A/C hdg as on the charts as well are better aligned LOC on some airports). This should mean you do not have to update the FSX/P3D magnetic model anymore (at least not for my software).
-Reworked installer package. Particularly, added an option to run FSX/P3D on a remote PC from FMGS server (seems to help reduce FPS hit in some cases)
-Better engine out handling (rudder trim, flight model, etc...)
best regards
Jean Luc

Looks like a lot of new features and JL has outdone himself again.
Anyone having issues with Navigraph October 2016 release? I've installed FMGS from new and I am unable to generate the bin files.
I have even tried manually copying the navrecord.dat as per the new documentation.

What does the log says in C:/a320FMGS/logs/logNDB.txt ?

No logNDB.txt in that folder.
FMGS_configure also crashes on closing, I think this may be related to the new CPFlight module.

Maybe this one is still in the navdata folder then?
FMGS config crash on exit is known and has no effect on the saving etc...

Tried multiple times. I've also tried restarting the computer. No sir, not working.
Even left FMGS server running for 1 hour with no generation of files.

A big big big Thank you for you hard work and continuous development! That´s are so awesome and it´s not self-evident.
In the future there may be comes another new Glass Cockpit software seller on the market but these are so "overpriced"...
So I prefer to stay with Jeehell!!!
Again, a big thank you what you do for the community!
Cheers Florian
 And maybe sometimes comes also the Weatherradar.

Hello JL,
first of all also a very big thank you for your great software!
Before the update to version 46 the software runs without any problems!
Now, when i start the server after a while my P3D v3.4 freez ! then i close your software over the starter.exe and i can to anything in P3D! Have you a idea what is going wrong on my PC???
Regards Peter

Peter this can be a problem with the new module, simpatcher.dll, which runs inside P3D.
The b46 has a new flight mode with a slightly different name, which MUST be slected. The other A32x versions which were around are not compatible anymore.

Hi JL.
I have not been able to use the new update. Working with two computers, I updated the two FMGs but I only now connects the FCU and MCDU. The rest does not work. What should I do?

GREAT!!! Very smooth behavior. No more pitch up and down during ILS approach.
It disselarates much more slowly with extended spoilers than before. Almost be overspeeded... I suppose the real one behaves like these. This version doesn't seem beta to me!
Thanks a lot JL

Hi JL,
First of all you are doing an outstanding job !!!! Thank you so much !
I am having a problem. I run FMGS on 4 Pcs my CPT PC which is running CPT ND PFD and MCDU and my FO PC which runs the equivalent FO stuff. When I start everything it places the displays (ND PFD etc.) On the same places like B45. When I power my cockpit however the displays stay dark. My center PC which have EWD SD ISIS on it works without any problem. Do you have an idea ? Cheers Michael

@Firefly77: this sounds like a local issue with either networking/antivirus/firewall.
Or if you have hardware which control the PFD/ND brightness pots?

yes you do. For most users, this will be the same IP as the server PC. This is how you can now use different PCs for P3D and FMGS server.

This may be due to self persuasion but I think the ND feels more crisp and responsive now, although that seems to come with the expense of lots of RAM, in the range of 450-500 MB. Double that for the PFD and now just those two consume more RAM than P3D does!
I run my typical test flight with flightplan: LGAV - SOREV1T (03R) - SOREV - UL617 - XAVIS - XAVIS1A (27 via GONSO) - LGIR. Flown at FL270. I enjoyed the correct climb and descend predictions that no longer fluctuate for no apparent reason causing the bus to jump up and down on the path. The bus flies the path so predictably now and that's quite enjoyable. I even smiled seeing the bearing and distance being displayed for the point in focus in PLAN mode.
I noticed a black rectangle in the low left part of the ND that doesn't seem to be there for a purpose:
http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=11828&stc=1
I also noticed that the taxi handling is now significantly different, it seems substantial constant thrust is required to taxi the aircraft in medium gross weights which I don't think is what actually happens. The bus to my knowledge taxis with idle thrust in most loads.
The only non trivial issue I noticed on my way to LGIR, was that I couldn't see the T/D arrow on the ND. The MCDU was calculating the prediction but the actual arrow wasn't displayed in the ND, or maybe it was displayed in the wrong position, over the airport, I can't really tell:
http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=11829&stc=1
There were two errors on the ND route displayed path as shown below:
http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=11830&stc=1 http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=11831&stc=1
but these are minor.
I also noted that the new virtual panels (for landing gear, flaps, etc) seem to be overriding the key bindings, which means one can't use the panels to verify the correct position of the control. For example pressing the key for flaps down is almost immediately overwritten by the flap panel lever position and the flaps won't move. That seems a bit counter intuitive to what I would expect, but personally I don't really care for these panels.
I also saw that Vapp was calculated as 152 when Vls was 134, did this change somehow?
Overall, once again great job!

FMGS is breaking towards a commercial product, well done JL :)
Hi Spilot -- I also did a quick fly through --
I did notice some differences in taxiing, but that might be because I have been using different avionic suites and bus products in the market. It seems relatively easy to turn with the rudder pedals -- I was under the impression you could only do something like a 30% turn at full rudder deflection?
The aircraft now also pushes forwarded and accelerates at quite a rate at 2 engine starts with no parking brake -- it was my thoughts this only tends to happen more with the IAE engine options and not CFM?
I am not too sure if i have to install this new .dll friction model or it is automatic configured on FMGS startup.
I like the new 2D panels -- FMGS can now work as a flat trainer :) Yes -- the flaps 2d panels override your hardware settings -- so its either use one or the other, not both.
I did have some NAV errors, but that was when I did a HOLD pattern.
I did notice the aircraft pitching up and down on cruise level.
Will report as usual on the bug list -- please all report bugs on the tracker so JL can keep an eye out for it -- this is the only way to improve the software, with YOUR input!
Merci beaucoup JL.
Regards.

It looks networking is good (or you wouldn't get the FCU/MCDU connected).
Look for your antivirus blocking some DLLs, exes or else.
Also look for the widefmgs logs (server and client side)

Also when im am going in e menue from the P3D, i can not come back to the P3D, first when i closed all JL programms!
I have found some double entries from JL in the addon submenue, see picture!

Hello Jl,
now i have done more or less the first flight with the B46 Version! In the flight the P3D frezz, when i stop starter.exe and all the JL Programms on the Server PC are closed, the P3D start working again!
Also when im am going in e menue from the P3D, i can not come back to the P3D, first when i closed all JL programms!
I have found some double entries from JL in the addon submenue, see picture!
Any Idea
Greetings Peter
PS: my Speedbrakes are working well !
The double entry has also happened to me. Sometimes FMGS server has trouble starting and/or there are network issues. The way to fix this is close FMGS and either restart P3D, or reset the flight. Then restart FMGS server and all the clients again.

It looks networking is good (or you wouldn't get the FCU/MCDU connected).
Look for your antivirus blocking some DLLs, exes or else.
Also look for the widefmgs logs (server and client side)
Hi JL. What does this mean?:

Hello JL,
i have test my problem many times now and i think that will be a problem between FMGS and FSUIPC!
When i open in P3D the FS Add On - FSUIPC and i will change to Buttons + Switches then the FSUIPC Menue looks like this!
http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=11840&stc=1
and the P3D freez, and only when i stop FMGS P3d runs again!
Greetings Peter

Regarding the speedbrake issue, I had it in B45 too and I think it is because I have the speedbrake axis setup in FS instead of JH (to be able to use it in other aircraft as well).
It only happens when speedbrakes are used during flight and only after the landing roll, where there is a delay of a few seconds between disarming the speedbrakes (or manually returning the lever to 0) and the speedbrake message and indication in SD going off.
I think the FS auto speedbrake deployment triggers and causes this but that's a wild guess.
Just wait for it to go off, you learn to ignore it after a few landings :)

I found the fault. Re-install program. Corrected in starter.ini Hardware Connect=no for yes and it works.

Hello Pete_Fuss and Rafape,
Windows asks you to accept simpatcher.dll,
FSX (and P3D too, maybe) asks you the same thing 2 seconds later.
Nothing to install, just accept it (be careful with dialog box which could be hidden by FSX window).
Regards,
Michel

Effectively seems to be missed in the installation guide...
Surely will be done in the next update...

in P3D I don't think there is any window to accept the DLL module on first run.
You need to locate you c:\users\you_user\appdata\roaming\lockheed Martin\Prepar3D Vx\DLL.xml file and look inside it to see if its installed or not.

I have waited this for long time and I just came to visit Holland (also going to visit FSweekend at saturday) for six days and then I go to Spain and will be in there for 2-3 months... Well, I have something to wait when I go back to Finland! :D

Hello JL, hello Mitch95 (http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/member.php?u=12459) ,
this morning i to a lot of tests to find out what the problem is!
First i install the JL B46 Software again (antivirus and Firewall out), then i have a look inside the dll.xml, where i found the entrie of Simpatcher.dll.
Then i start P3d V3.4 and when ready the starter.exe, everything works fine, i can go inside the P3D submenue and back without a freez!
Next i start the copilot PC, on this PC is runng the FSBus Software for my overheadpanel. For this software i need the wideclient software from Pete Downsend to communicate with the P3d. After start Wideclient on this PC and go inside a P3D submenue a got the freez !!
What can happend?

Do you use any other application which uses FSUIPC?
Do you use an application or a LUA script which changes the ground friction coefficient?
Try to disable the simpatcher.dll in the DLL.xml and see if it still produces the freeze.

Are you sure you selected the correct version of P3D during the installation of my software?
you can add it manually otherwise, add that:
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>Simpatch</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Path>c:\A320FMGS\SimPatch\Simpatcher.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>
Of course you may need adapt to adapt the path...

How ILS corrected?. From the airplane instruments if it aligns well with the ILS, but from the FMGS always goes off target.

Yes, the V3.4, but for some strange reason, when I installed the first P3D I did not create the dll.xml file. All I have to do it manually.

Hello JL,
now i have deinstalled: Sode , GSX, Lua-Files and all other things that can go into P3D.
When i start P3D in the Add On Menue only the FSUIPC entrie is still there.
After run Starter.exe i have double entrie of Ext Pwr GndHP and Rat usw.
When i now wont go to the FSUIPC i see the openscreen, when i now will change to Buttons and Keys the P3D get freeze and it came first back when i close the starter.exe
I have run the repair option of P3d without any result, it is still the same!
For today i am at my end and speechless, what for a problem can this be!
Tomorrow i will have a look at the win10 updates and go back to the last windows recoverypoint and see what happend then!

Can somebody help me?
How ILS corrected?. From the airplane instruments if it aligns well with the ILS, but from the FMGS always goes off target.
Thank's!
Are you saying using VOR or ADF matches up but not ILS? Have you updated your magnetic variation?

Hello JL, first of all thank you so much
I have 3 problems with the new version and I really can't understand.
1 is I can't run APU, the system respond to the comand but the APU don't start
2º Both engines selectors are on, and I can't put them to off position
3º The overhead always start at NAV position
Did this happen to any one?
Thank you

Hi Leonidas, for me it works fine. I just need an inital push of 25% thrust and then I can taxi complete with idle thrust.

First time a big thank you to Jeehell. I have the update also installed and as far as everything as before. The problem with the speed with the taxiing is with me also. In idle you have to brake the aircraft so it does not get too fast. Another problem which I still have are display errors in the ND.

The previous version worked so, but B46 didn't read previous ACcontrols.cfg backup file, so I configured controls from the beginning and suspecting the brakes I increased the neutral zone for both brakes, but nothing happened. Anyway, thanks Michael.:(

Hi Leonidas,
You can use your previous AControls.cfg and JoySW.cfg backup files.
1 - Save what you just made with your actual files (it's safer... ;)).
2 - Put your previous files in place of them in FMGS.
3 - Run FMGS_Config.exe, and click on "Save configuration" without change anything.
Now this should work because of a new format of these files.
So, maybe you'll have to correct your axis (See Installation Guide Ch4.2) and error margin values for each position.

Michel

LOC flag: I need to check. It probably appears if an ILS is tuned but not in receiving range?
Baro setting: on soft startup it will always be 1013. The ISIS has its own encoder to change the setting, it is not linked to any of the EFIS controls.

Leonidas, check in your appdate\roaming folder the P3D DLL.XML.
If it does not have the simpatch.dll installed in it, do it manually (check posts number 45 and 51 in this thread).

The double entries in addon menu is not a big problem.
Have you tried disabling simpatcher.dll in your DLL.XML file?
You will not lose much for now, and it will help find out where your issue comes from.
FSUIPC is able (throught LUA plugins) to do equivalent hack into P3D to fix the ground friction. It could be here that you have a conflict.
If disabling simpatcher.dll fixes your issue, try then to re-enable it but disable FSUIPC (it is also done in the DLL.XML file).

First, thank you very much JL for this great update. I have simpatcher installed and the plane flies really nice and smooth, also no more pitch up and down on the approach.
However, in my case there is a problem with the ND. When during a flight I get a shortcut (DIRECT TO), the plane will fly to the specified waypoint, but the ND will not update the route. This is also the case if I have to change the landing Rwy and/or STAR/TRANSITION - the route is not updated on the ND. In the MCDU, everything is correct and the plane will fly the new route. This was not an issue with the previous versions.
Any idea what could cause the problem?

I just noticed, that while on ground (at the gate and engines not running), I can change the route and do get an update on the ND. So maybe this only happens in flight?
Here is the info you asked for:
I alway enter a complete route with STAR and APPR before departure.
Flight from LKPR to EDDF
CRZ FL: 240
CI: 30 (I use 30 for all my flights)
Weights: See attached TOPCAT-image what data where exported to the Sim.
The route yesterday:
LKPR Rwy 24
SID: BALTU 3A
ATC-Route: BALTU L984 OKG N869 NIBIL
Route in the MCDU (after entering the above airways):
BALTU
DOPOV
DONAD
OKG
RONIG
NOGRA
NIBIL
Arrival:
EDDF Rwy 25R
STAR: KERAX 2L
VIA: MTR
The route had no discontinuties.
During departure ATC gave me vectors and then a direct to waypoint OKG. Then no update on the ND. Later ATC cleared me for the Rwy 25L via the PSA 25S RNAV transition. ND still showed me the original route, however the aircraft flew the new route and also tuned the ILS for the Rwy 25L.
Today I entered exactly the same route. But this time I entered directly the Rwy 25L via PSA 25S. I tried another DIRECT TO and also switched to 25R with KERAX 2L via MTR. And again no update on the ND. Everything is correct in the MCDU.

hi all,
just giving my 2 cents experience with b46:
made a CLEAN install of new version; re-checked fmgs config and redefined some axis which were not recognised from old Acontrols.cfg; made the soft rebuild the navdata database (i.e. deleted old navdata folder and at first startup let soft create new bin files then transferred to client pc as usual); checked dll.xml and simpatcher was correctly inserted from installer (pls note p3d creates two dll.xml files, the valid and used one is in appdata/roaming/LM folder and not the one in programdata folder....after this made a test flight and EVERYTHING was perfect. no double entries in addon dropdown menu, no problem taxing with idle thrust (better than before), no problema with direct to and route drawing....aircraft model a LOT better than before thx jl!!! now u have to calculate when to decelerate the plane for the approach: u won't be allowed to descend and decelerate at the same time!!! (as it is in real aircraft and became too easy in b45)

If you use topcat, be careful as it may cause issues with loading of weight.
In the flight model, the declared DOW is much less than the actual A320 DOW (TOPCAT probably raises a warning about this one).
THis is because of some internal tweaking of the model. The software uses two additional loading stations (called "adjustement") to move the CG aft/FWD depending on some parameters. These must NOT be changed from the default aircraft.cfg, or it can cause issues (I believe TOPCAT sets those to 0kg, which is NOT correct).

Coming back to taxi problem again (the one that needed significant power to maintain taxi), I didn't change anything and it just went away, didn't even restart the computer. I would have thought it was just me, but at least one more person reported it so I don't know what to think. Well, if it doesn't come back I don't bother.
My biggest problem now is that I'm completely loosing flights for anything unrelated to P3D/JH, trivial or not, that goes on my computer. For example today as I was about to commence my descend flying online, skype updated itself and immediately after that JH lost the connection to the simulator (no speeds, no fuel, JL thinking engines were out, checklists coming up, etc).
Before B46 I could reset this error by restarting FSXConnect.exe, unfortunately this doesn't work anymore and I can't figure out how to get back the connection to FS. I've lost 4 flights out of around 10 I did the past days, fortunately the first two while still on the ground, but in the air it's so much disappointment. It happens if I toggle P3D to full screen, or turning windows defender off, etc. I try not to change anything but some times it's out of my control (like what skype did).
Another issue I discovered is that the default FS pushback turn (Shift-P + 1/2) takes a huge circle and in most airports causes me to miss my intended taxiway by far. In Prague it will taxi me into the gates across mine and push me back far into inside the terminal. Is there anyway I can change that myself or is it embedded in the aircraft air file?

It seems only you have issues with full screen mode as far as I know?
I have tried myself, and I can not reproduce it. It could be related to many other applications. For instance, I have similar issues when accessing the P3D computer with teamviewer... it just crashes the Simconnect connection.
In your case, something is crshing the simconnect connection, and it happens when P3D loses focus apparently. Do you have any application in particular which messes around with windows/fonts/themes?
Push back : I have no idea. Never palyed with this kind of stuff.

In TOPCAT I use the "A320-214 PRO JeeHell FMGS" configuration file provided from "ToTom". With that configuration file, I do not get any error message from TOPCAT when exporting the payload and fuel to FSX.
Before I started using "ToTom"s file, I did get a warning message about different DOW settings between TOPCAT and the aircraft.cfg file.
Do you think that the configuration file from "ToTom" is not suitable anymore for the new version B46?

Thanks JL for the update, it does give a few pointers to debug. My observations below:
1. I mainly had issues with going in and out fullscreen mode, but also when changing certain windows settings like adding a printer, changing windows defender active state, changing the windows taskbar autohide setting, changing monitor settings (enabling the extra displays I only use for flying or changing their virtual position), adding windows updates and finally skype autoupdating. Basically anything windows related. I had learned not to try anything windows related while flying, but sometimes especially during long flights it was inevitable. I don't think it has to do with P3D loosing focus, I do lots of stuff while P3D doesn't have focus and nothing breaks it but windows stuff.
2. Up to B45 I could restart FSXConnect and everything was back to normal. So on first sign of something going wrong (MW), I would pause, quickly restart FSXConnect (had it pinned on the taskbar just for this reason) and unpause, it would maybe take 3-5 seconds so I could even do it online in Vatsim without anyone noticing (or causing trouble to other traffic). Only downside was that on the ground I had to wait for APU to spool up again if it happened before engine start.
3. From B46, restarting FSXConnect doesn't seem to be helping at all. Once the values are lost they never come back.
4. Extra programs that use SimConnect are ActiveSky, vPilot, and one of my own. Neither one of those complains or gets any error messages when JH looses the connection.
5. I have teamviewer running on the background but I don't use it while flying and when I do it's only to connect to some other computer - no incoming connections.
Do you use the polling method for SimConnect (GetNextDispatch) or the Win32 message pushing (registering the window handle on connection)? Any ideas why wouldn't restarting FSXConnect get the connection back?
My next steps will be to run the sim again with only necessary applications running and see if anything has changed, as well as attempt to debug simconnect traffic through P3D. Hopefully I'll figure out something.
PS. The pushback behaviour changed in B46, but since you don't seem to know how that could have happened I'll try to figure it out myself. Do you use some other means to pushback?

I use the windows messaging way, as I also use windows messages for IPC between apps (among other sharing protocols...). I suppose at some point something breaks the message pump of the FSXconnect window (which is what I always suspected with teamviewer issue). Though it is weird restarting it is not helping?
Have you been able to determine which system is better to handle frequent data exchange with P3D? I have to say I never tested that in depth...

I have good news and bad news:
Good news is that teamviewer seems to be the culprit of all the problems I had with the connection being lost. I've only did this once but I was able to do everything that was causing issues in the past without a single failure! I'll monitor this more but I think we got down to it.
Bad news is that I debugged simconnect and I see that FSConnect registering itself at least 30 times in 20 seconds while the FMGS is loading. Some of those connections are closed later on, but lots stay open and unused, even after FSConnect is closed. The last connection to appear in the logs is also the one being used and is closed when FSConnect is closed.
This can also explain the multiple menu entries some users see, in the logs I can see several FSConnect connections registering the JH menus multiple times. Some of the extra connections might be attributed to my windows tests, but still point to a problem as reregistering a connection shouldn't be needed. Worth mentioning that even without changing any windows settings I still get two menu entries; one approximately when JH starts and one when it stops loading and is ready to use.
Finally, the simconnect logs also confirm that restarting FSXConnect doesn't get it to connect again, there are no further connections no matter how many times the program is restarted.
PS. Jean Luc I'll not go into details over frequent data exchange to FS here since I doubt it would be of interest to anyone else. We can follow up that from email.

Rafape:
this kind of troubles is typical in two cases:
1. the navdata compilation process is not successful at scanning your bgl files
2. this is an iarport which has had major runways/ILS changes since FSX was released.
In your case, it most probably is the N°1.
Check in c:\A320FMGS\Navdata\fsscenery.cfg that the scenery.cfg path and the P3D root path are correct. If not, correct them then delete the bin files to recompile the navdata again.
For EVERYONE: it is NOT necessary to update the madgec file using Hervé Sors (though it might be useful if you use FS/P3D for other addons).
My software extracts the LLZ/GS data out of FSX/P3D bgl files (including addon scenery) and recomputes everything by comparing with real world data and up to date magnetic variation computations.
So for ILS's which just changed ID or Frequency, this is taken into account.
The problem lies with RWYs, LLZ and GS locations, which ARE very different in FSX and in real world data. So my software needs to know where your scenery is, compare it with navigraph/aerosoft. To keep runway/LLZ alignment, when possible (i.e. changes to RWY/LLZ are nil or limited) this works flawlessly.
On airports which added runways, or changed runways in a significant way, this is troublesome, for instance EDDB closed a runway, and started building another one, renaming 07R to 07L... I am working on a tool to counter that. But there are way over 1000 airports which had changes in the last 10 years (QFU changing due to magnetic variation, new RWYs, new ILS, different frequencies, etc...).
My approach is the only one which guarantees a total coherence between APPR charts and FMS data.
Anyway, as you can see below:
http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=11861&stc=1
LEAS runway 29 ILS (AVS 110.10) is correctly reproduced (there is a very small 1 meter offset which can be due to rounding issues, or spherical earth models...).

Guys unfortunately it's not teamviewer that is causing my lost connection problems. This is so weird. Had it working for a while a couple of days back, now it's loosing the connection again as before, without anything identifiable running in the background. Truly disappointing.
To the pushback issue, I have successfully verified that SimPatcher makes my pushback rate of turn huge.
What I did to test was: load JH's PA a320 aircraft without starting the FMGS. The rate of turn and pushback position is normal. Start JH, reset position at the gate and pushback again. The rate of turn seems like 1/3 of before, causing a huge circle pushing me back 50m offside and away than intended. Close Starter.exe, reset position, pushback, again the huge turn appears. Restart Sim with Simpatcher disabled. Rate of turn with JH started is normal.
PS. I also tested if simpatcher is causing the lost connection not to return after restarting FSXConnect, but it doesn't have any effect (as expected).

LEAS runway 29 ILS (AVS 110.10) is correctly reproduced (there is a very small 1 meter offset which can be due to rounding issues, or spherical earth models...).
Effectively, the BIN files had not been created well. Thank's.
Now I just fail the OVFY, it will not let me remove or put them. Does this happen to anyone else?

I can imagine the reason of the P/B issue. This is unfortunate, I'll try to change that, though I am not sure there is a way to detect if the P/B function of FSX is used or not...
Regarding the crash in simconnect: I will try to work on that a bit.

When i start P3D in the Add On Menue only the FSUIPC entrie is still there.

When i now wont go to the FSUIPC i see the openscreen, when i now will change to Buttons and Keys the P3D get freeze and it came first back when i close the starter.exe
I have run the repair option of P3d without any result, it is still the same!

Hi
I collect three issues today:
1. OUTR TK FUEL XFRD appears on E/WD until the end of the flight, even after outer tanks are empty. (1st photo)
2. After a shortcut, FMGS recalculates EFOB right, but not ETA. You can see on 2nd photo that last 49NM = just 2min...
3. I've changed sidestick's sensitivity from FMGS and is more accurate and real now. Is there a way to change rudders' sensitivity too? It's very difficult to line up the plane on the ground.
Thanks a lot

Hi all
first of all a big thank you Jean Luc for your great work. I have two issues which probably will be solved real quick :-). I still have the bouncing plane while taxiing and bring thrust to 20% and when step onto the brakes see clip https://youtu.be/DnzDqU-Pm0s . I used the new a320 model which i copied from the fmgs installation folder to the fsx simobjects/airplane folder. Could TomCat be the reason for that bouncing behavior?
Second issue is that on one system the route on the ND is not shown (Cpt side) while on the other system the ND shows my route. On both I did not copy the bin files to the navdata folder. Am I correct that we just need to recreate the navdata bin files on the main fsx system?

Parking brake is not supposed to be on when the aircraft resumes from cold and dark state, the hydraulic pressure will have bled away after a few hours either way, rendering it useless. Chokes are used on the wheels to stop the aircraft from moving after a flight and the parking brake is released shortly after.

a small problem, which I already had in the previous version 4.5.
The first digit of the Rudder Trim Display is not displayed.
When I start the computer all three digits works. When I run FMGS, the first digit goes off.
I use the OC Display Card for this digits.
Is it because I use only 7 segment digits?

exept from the problem that sometime the route on the ND is not displayed/updated and for a minor problem with the calculated time for T/C and T/D (bugreport ID "0001198" on the Mantis Bug Tracker page), I do really enjoy flying the new FMGS version. However, since installing the "SimPatcher.dll", FSX always crashes on exiting the simulator:

I assume you use Topcat. It sets the load of the adjustment compartments 7 and 8 to zero. Add 10000lbs or reference in kg to both compartments in FS Load Menu AFTER loading with Topcat and look if that helps.

the more i fly with b46 the more i appreciate the improvements:
- LNAV steady on the green line even in steep turns;
- VNAV profile correctly respected, even an arrival with lot of speed restrictions is now perfectly flown;
- as i already reported after 1st flight now the flight model is nearly perfect about drag/speed when deploying flaps...guys u have to calculate correctly the distance needed to slow down the aircraft (as in the real plane) or u won't be able to descend and slow down at the same time;
- one engine behaviour on ground more real now: we can perform one engine taxi without the aircraft turning hard to the shut engine side or slowing down to full stop after 3 secs

the builtin P3D trim function is not working in my soft. I will maybe add that soon (remap the controls from P3D to my software), but this is some work.
Could you try to make a flight without using topcat or any other application which sets the W&B?
You must keep the default loading of the "ADJ FWD/AFT" stations or you will create weird CG issues.

Hi
Can you line up to the center or the runway easily? Because I can't, especially during landing. It's very sensitive and I can't reduce this sensitivity of rudders and tiller. If you understand what I mean, the A/C turns left or right trying to stay at the center line. This never happens in the real world A/C.

Had this morning a similar problem as Totti described.
On the flight from EDDM to LIRF, after 30 minute flight time at Flightlevel 330, the aircraft moved like a ship on the ocean. The nose went up and down. The thrust increased and decreased again and the trim also corrected constantly up and down. The correction of the trim was always more downwards than upwards that after a time the trim wheel was overrun. I also ran TOPCAT to refueling the plane but it was not overloaded and the load was well distributed.
Will also make another test without TOPCAT.

Had this morning a similar problem as Totti described.
Same issue here (with three test flights so far)
The B46 Airbus oscillates around a given altitude by VS of +/- 300 ft when ALT is greater than 9900 ft! Below everything is fine.
Setup:
FSX, no external weather (clear sky) , W&B calculated and sent to FSX by TOPCAT
For me it's hard to believe that the problem is caused by TOPCAT because of the FL100 "line".

Hello!! Thanx again for this great simulator!!
Just flying to an event from LGTS to URSS and we had to restart the software to the FO side (PFD,ND)
After the restart we dont have the green flight line path.
Also after entering a DIRECT TO, although the plane turn direct correctly, in the CPT ND we see the old green line path (nothing changed after the direct to).
Software is in the exceptions of virus and open from firewall. Also we had copied the files (NAVADATA) from the main pc to the other two.

Some releases ago we had also the problem with the up and down of the Nose at cruising altitude. Somebody corrected the model configuration of the flight model and this behaviour was gone. That is why I'm not sure if this behaviour is caused by TOPCAT or by the new model cofiguration.
But you're right. I should test this without TOPCAT. Didn't had the time today to test it. Will do this soon.

And where do you get all the data (Fuel, Payload, ZFW /MAC) from? Or do you use TOPCAT only to calculate these data but without using TOPCAT's "Export to Flight Sim" option?
René
I have just started a flight without using Topcat's export option. Exactly the same osciallation. Again, why should Topcat's data cause these oscillations only above FL 9900 and not below this FL? Not very reasonable, is it?

It was a question I am really interested in! Probably I was not precise enough. What I actually wanted to know is how you load the aircraft. In other words how do you get the optimum balance between the different stations and tanks?
I still use FSX. Maybe the p3d fuel&payload item is more self-explaining. In this case my question really is ambiguous.

hi renè!
no p3d fuel & load is not different from fsx!
i used topcat until v45....then i stopped using it by myself before v46 because i read the model was reworked and didn't want to have problems...also because i changed my laptop (where topcat was) and now having a macbook i have to take some time to install windows there.
right now i just change fuel according to the flight i'm going to perform...i never change payload: this may sound odd to someone but using my cockpit for training i really don't care about this.

thanks for clarification!
I think I've found a workaround / solution to avoid oscillation while using Topcat's data and export item. But let me do some more test flights to check the new configurations.

I just made a test flight EDDM-LQSA on FL370 with Mach.81 (just below the "red line"). I used TOPCAT for loading and added 4535,92 kg (=10000lbs) to both adjustment compartments in P3D, which TOPCAT has set to 0. With real weather from FSGRW I had very small ups and downs in the first enroute phase of the flight, which can be caused by turbulences. Trim (managed mode) at 0.7 up in climb to 0.4 on cruise altitude. After some minutes these ups and downs disappeared. The airplane feels very stable with this setup, vertical management works perfect.
For me TOPCAT ist very useful in combination with PFPX, so I can transfer the planned load and fuel to the airplane.
I will also do more check flights. I´m very interested in your solution, René.

Hi, which topcat's profile uses for JHB46's A32x ?
romeow
11-22-2016, 05:48 AM
Profile?
1) You need the correct Aircraft Type file to be found in TOPCAT folder AIRCRAFT (A320-214.acft
)
2) So you will find this aircraft in the list at TOPCAT>Configuration>Configuration. Apply then.
3)Then you need the correct txt file in TOPCAT folder CONFIGURATIONS
And at the end you go to TOPCAT > Aircraft >Add where you choose the
Type: Airbus 320-214
Configuration: A320-214 JeeHell FMGS
correct aircraft.cfg file (Browse)
With the attached files TOPCAT should load the B46 Airbus.
!!!!!Please rename A320-214.txt in A320-214.acft !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Model from Jeehell B46 has extra "things". FMGS also...
It can not be included in the Topcat.
I use Topcat only to calculate V1/Vr/V2. (I enter weight manually).
But if you keep the sequence (first Topcat then FMGS) it should work.
It should ... I do not give a guarantee.
Other models (A318/A319/A321) will not work properly with FMGS.

In other words: Why is TOPCAT not recommendable to calculate ZFW and MAC?

René
If you use topcat, be careful as it may cause issues with loading of weight.
In the flight model, the declared DOW is much less than the actual A320 DOW (TOPCAT probably raises a warning about this one).
THis is because of some internal tweaking of the model. The software uses two additional loading stations (called "adjustement") to move the CG aft/FWD depending on some parameters. These must NOT be changed from the default aircraft.cfg, or it can cause issues (I believe TOPCAT sets those to 0kg, which is NOT correct).

Yes, it's true, TOPCAT sets the two loading stations (adjustement) to 0 kg. For the next flight I won't use TOPCAT in order to check if there are some (positive) effects.

In my case, when I send Payload and Fuel with TOPCAT to the A320, the additional adjustment loading stations do not get set to zero kg. Both values remain the same as before sending the Payload/Fuel from TOPCAT. See attached images. The image labeled FMGS is how the aircraft is loaded by default. The other image labeled TOPCAT shows the loading after done with TOPCAT. With the configuration file from "ToTom" I do not receive any error-message from TOPCAT when sending the Payload/Fuel. I do also not notice any difference in the adjustment loading stations no matter if I load the plane before or after starting FMGS.
I use PFPX for flight planning in combination with TOPCAT for V-Speeds calculations and sending Payload/Fuel to the aircraft.
The Turbulence effect scale in AS16 is set to 20%.
The new aircraft model flies very smoothly and I do not experience any vertical oscillations during the entire flight. This was an issue before version B46.

Setup:
FSX
FSX weather, clear sky
no topcat
original aircraft.cfg (B46)
fuel (5,8 t) and payload (11,5 t) as loaded by FSX, no modification by myself
I had to trim the aircraft with extreme DN 3,4! With "normal" trim values TO wasn't possible (nose up as soon as thrust levers in FLX detent!) But during the flight, normal trim values (around 0)
Here my report
Climb and descent always with VS 2100.
Oscillation during climb and descent +/ (- 150 ft (with N1 oscillation as well)
Oscillation during cruize on FL +/- 400 (with N1 oscillation as well)
Climb (CL) FL150 = stable (st)
Cruise (CR) FL150= oscillation (o)
CL FL220= o
CR FL220 = st

A question of accident or is there any correlation (e.g. to the calibration of the throttle detents)?
BTW
I've got the same visual impression as Totti: even an oscillation of +/- 100 ft causes disproportionate up and down movements when you have a look outside. Probably we are spoiled by the smoothness of the B45 version

Hello Fil and thanks for trying to help me....... yes, clean install, B46-model used in flight...... on main-PC: FMGS-server and only captain FCDU, only clicked FSUIPC when installed, no hardware checked. On client installed rest of FMGS B 46, no hardware checked. client also finds server. No topcat and no external weather. I reinstalled P3D and also clean FSUIPC.INI. Takeoff and climbing is smooth. But trim is ill 3.8- 4.0 DN. At 9000 feet up and downs and thrust changes also up and down when AP is on. Then tried to climb higher and everything is smooth again. When reaching AP-altitude, f. e. One button was blocked and this button controlled the elevator in P3D-Controls. I deleted this button in the p3d-control.... Now, I have normal pitch trim. The first testflight was smooth..... The server pc runs P3d, AS16 + ASCA and a part of skalarki hardware. 1 client pc for PFD ND e FMGS for CPT and FO and the remaining part of skalarki hardware. The 2 client pc for ECAM displays. I've chosen this configuration because I had problems with usb ports to connect all skalarki hardware.
Cheers

Thanks for your reply.
Just to be sure about the model you have. Is it perhaps the Gigabyte Z97X gaming 3,5 or7?
Do you have skalarki usb hardware connected on your 3 usb powered hubs?
All my best

Last weekend I tried to use the flightmodel from the previous release to solve the oscillations problem at cruising altitude.
At cruising altitude the plane hold constantly the cruising altitude, no more .
Some minuites later P3D hang up. I also had no flightpath on the ND.
The using of flightmodel from previous release is also not a solution.
I decide to wait for JeeHells next update.
I had the same oscillations problem with Build 46 / P3D 3.4..... Solved with moving C.G. a little bit forward.
Cheers

Off topic but...
a merry xmas and a successful and healthy new year with many happy landings to all of you guys!
@Jean-Luc: thank you very much for your incredible work. All the best for you and your family!
Kind regards

Merry Xmas JL and a big thanks for your efforts in 2016 and may they continue into
2017.
Take care

Merry Christmas everyone.
Thanks for a great update. Really smooth flying :-)
two issues:
1- On the Winds page - I am only able to enter 3 lines of data. When entering a fourth line just get blanked out after entering the data
2 - there are a few display artifacts on the LNAV route:
-- turns where the arcs and straight segments dont line up. Usually corrected when passing the first point. And the route segment becomes the active
-- some straight segments do not seem to origin from the centre of the waypoint but rather the perimeter of the Waypoint symbol.

Hi Jl,
I'm not getting any display on my fds mcdu's.
I have installed the software twice as the previous install gave me Fm2 error msg on fm1.
Now I looked in the hclog and the following line is in it
C:\A320FMGS\hardware modules\interfaceITAPI.DLL not valid
Also there is a "missing navdata" line in the widefmgslog.
Thanks

Hello,
just tried to install B46 but I get the message "Prepare3d cannot run because it could not write Prepare3d.cfg" . I'm using P3d V3.1.2.
Prepare3d.cfg exists in -> ..Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepare3d V3 on this PC
I have made the simpatcher entries in the ddl file manually now.
Further I have another bad problem:
After startup of the the fmgs server now IDG are disconnected from both engines - I have disconnected both hardware buttons - but no change. "IDG FAULT" Lights are dark and no warning in EICAS. "IDG disc" is only displayed on SD-page ELEC under the GEN.
Till previouse versions of the fmgs server IDG was connected and worked as expected.
Any help would be great... THXS

update....
when I start fmgs the cdu keys light up but no display & Key presses don't work.
but when I start the cdu controller (with fmgs not running) I get a display on both cdu .
If there is any1 that uses the FDS & have got it working some advice on getting it working again would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello JL,
after unsuccessful update from B45.4 to b46 and about 40 hours of investigations I need some help as following:
I’m operating a full size FDS flightdeck with all available components and high quality usb hubs ( external powered) and till B45.4 the simulator and all including hardware runs stable without any problems. After the update to B46 the simulator is not useable anymore. Switching back to B45.4 will bring back a stable environment.
I’m running P3d V3.1.2 and for all testing no additional software was running.
Problem 1 (I think not so important but just to be complete):
During update to B46 I get the msg "Prepare3d cannot run because it could not write Prepare3d.cfg".
Prepare3d.cfg has no right restrictions and can be edited by all user types. I also have made the simpatcher entries in the ddl file manually now and it seems to work.
Problem 2 :
The simulator cannot be started without IDG Disconnect for both engines after update. Every Time “hardware connect” will start the IDG will be disconnected – and now it will be more than strange- because it looks like that IITcreator, which seems to be changed in 11/2016 will have problems with the old config. So under b46 some numbers for switches or led’s are not shown and assigned parameter are missing (as seen attached). It looks like that some var names has changed. – and now the strange thing and the result of long time investigation:
The problem is not an invalid switch assignment (maybe to IDG Vars) – no - the problem will occur by two var’s assinments to leds:
A assignment to a led of the fds io port of the var “OVHD_SEC2_FAULT” will cause IDG Disconnect ENG 1!
A assignment to a led of the fds io port of the var “OVHD_SEC3_OFF” will cause IDG Disconnect ENG 2 !
This behavior can be reproduced and I have tested that multiple times with adding and removing this var.
So if there were an offset where I can reset the idg disc it would be fine but maybe this problem will stay in relation with the next problem and so this is not the final solution:
Problem 3:
The fds boards are no more stable under b46. It looks like that there is something like a timing problem (there are a lot of FDS boards connected). It makes different after how much time after starting the fmgs server I will start the “hardware connect” modul and it looks for me that during this initial process invalid states of button will be read and processed by the hardware driver. I think I have started the simulator today more than 50 times and the state of the leds in the overhead were often completely different and not like the should be (dark cockpit). In the previous B45.4 the startup is every time the same.
But I would live with different states after startup (exept IDG disconnection ) if there will also not exist the problem, that the FDS IO Modules sometimes stop working during operation.
I have also detected that with B46 also the FMGS server needs a little longer to connect to the simulator- (just fyi). But maybe I’m complete wrong and the problem is not the timing and more incompatibilities between the configuration files for the hw manager which will make unexpected operation of the hw manager.
A error msg as attached have been shown sometimes during restarting hw connect.http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=12031&stc=1http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=12032&stc=1
Problem 4:
Airplane is accelerating with idle thrust, but that has been already posted by other user and for sure to solve …..
Till now I was not able to test a flight, because every time a fds module stops working during taxing. After switching back to B45.4 I could process multiple flights without any problems.
I hope you will be able to help…
THXS Robert

Hi
I do not know what's happening on your setup. But you can try the following two options:
1) Easy option: keep the JeeHell_IIT.dll, interfaceITAPI.dll and IIT.dnt files from your b45.3 install, and overwrite the new files put in your b46 install (these files are in the hardware modules folder, but you know that I think).
2) Hard option: keep the 46 original files, but delete your old IIT.dnt (well keep a backup of course...) and start a full SW assignment from scratch
I also have recently made an alternative FDS driver : http://www.jeehell.org/JeeHell_IIT_V2.zip
But it means option 2 with this new interface (removing the older driver first from hardware module folder of course).

By the way, you may also want to try this interfaceIT.dll (last one from tekworx: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AgqinWqhYcTFoh9smSSGnNRTMxbg).
It corrects some stability issues with FDS boards (it will be included in my future packages).
And regarding A/C moving even at idle power, this is NOT an issue... this is how the real A/C behaves at lighter weights.

Oh and the cargo fire LEDS:SW may have changed names/ values. You will need to reassign them if you use the 46 drivers.

Hi everyone.
I am new to jeehell fmgs and this forum. I searched everywhere on the Internet but couldn't find any answer. So sorry, if this is a basic or already asked issue or problem. Jeehell MCDU (Capt) is not connected (red) to fmgs server. When I start the fmgs, mcdu display came on and straight away freeze. Left and right click do nothing. If right clicked, message came out 'MCDU.EXE not responding. Close application / Wait for application to respond'. It is installed on the same Server PC as P3D v3.4, FMGS Server, AP/FBW, FCU, FO EFIS. The rest, AP/FBW, FCU, FO EFIS are all connected (green) to the FMGS server. FO MCDU is connected (green) as well but it is installed on client laptop. Firewall and antivirus allready turned off. I'm using Windows 10 Home.
Please help me. Thanks for any help and consideration.

Do you run the MCDU as well as all other clients as administrator? Did you do a clean install of FMGS to figure out that htis isnt the problem? its only the software mcdu which is not responding?

Thanks!
I will start another update test next weekend and will report. In all the mess of the update procedures I have maybe not considered a low fuel weight in regard to the idle-acceleration of the plane - so this problem seems to be no problem - sorry...

Hello guys,
before my buddy starts his project we want to know if there are any experiences out here with a two-computer setup?
Is it possible to run FSX (orP3D), the FMGS server, FCU and EFIS on one PC and the hole other suite like both MCDUs, both PFDs and NDs, EWD, SD and the MIP stuff on a second one with an i5-5100U processor? The graphic devices would have 5 display outputs but we are interested in the CPU demands of all the networked parts before building such a setup.
Any experiences and opinions very welcome :-)
Thanks a lot to the community and best regards

2 computers are completely doable. I am using a 2500k overclocked to 4 ghz as my 'MIP' computer. I am not too sure how the 5100U compares in terms of performance.
With the 2500k I am running 3 LCDs (captain and FO PFD/ND, and the centre ECAM), and also a MCDU screen.
I am driving the 3 lcds with a cheap nvidia card (7xx series I believe). The MCDU is using the internal motherboard (intel graphics) for processing.
You should leave the powerful computer to be the scenery generator and run FMGS Server, along with the I/O boards -- although some, like the FDS tekwork sys boards can be run over the network.

Many thanks to Australia for your estimation!
Yes, my buddy owns a powerful i7 PC to host FSX and the FMGS server in the future but we are not sure if the second one with i5-5300 CPU and 8GB RAM is able to handle the 14 tasks for PFD, ND, ED, SWD and both MCDUs, too.
Maybe Jean-Luc has some hints on minimum performance for such a CPU?
Thank you all!
Best regards
