I have a problem using the PTT button on my joystick, not really a fault but how do other people work it.
Difficulty is that slightest touch on the joystick trips the autopilot out. I have 15% null zones in the joystick calibration but that does not affect the joystick sensitivity, it is like a hair trigger.
On the real aircraft there is a detent which partialy locks the stick when the autopilot is engaged. It is necessary to override this detent when it intended to cancel the autopilot by moving the stick. There is also the cancel button of course.
When talking to controllers online I am continually reselecting autopilot.
I am not interested in building two new joystick controls with the detent included, I think my best solution would be to disable the "cancel autopilot" function on moving the stick. I can always cancel with either the separate button or the FCU.
Is this possible or what do other pilots do?
