Hi,
Starting the CPFlight equipment with PM MCP is not the issue. Setting the
mcp.ini to accept the MCP and EFIS was the easy part.
Both PM MCP and the CPFlight MCP and EFIS work when I launch MS default
B737.
The trouble begins when I try to use it with the mods I downloaded from Bob
Scott to make the EFIS and MCP work with the PMDG B737 600 through 900
series.
I am sure I missed steps (as described above) but I do not know where, so I
would like to see some examples.
Thanks a lot for your replies though!
Regards, Ferry

I only used the PMDG 737-700 with Bob's mods and it worked fine with the
CPFlight MCP and EICAS, I really have no idea and hope someone can chime in
to help you, sorry...

Hi Ferry,
I think that there are 2 things to consider here:
1. If you want to use the CP Flight modules (EFIS and MCP)
with PMDG, you don't need PM MCP software. You just install
FS (2002 or 2004), add PMDG (I only have experience with
the -700 series, I don't have the -800/900 series), connect
the EFIS and MCP, install cpflighttools109 and install patch4 or patch5.
That's what I did before I bought PM software.
The only problem is that not all EFIS functions are avialable
like Flight Vector Path and Meters buttons (and maybe more
that I am not even aware of).
To fly, you start FS, select a saved Cold&Dark PMDG 737
(I have never understood why people first load a cold&dark
cessna, and then change to PMDG, I always start with the
PMDG right away), and then start FS_COM. Be sure to
execute the patch, e.g. copy the keyboard.ini to the
right directories.
If this explanation is not clear, can you please explain
what errors you get, or what problem you have?
2. If you want to build a cockpit (that's what I am doing
now), you will probably need the whole PM set of software.
I am now halfway installing, I have FS2004 with PMDG on my
main machine, connected EFIS and MCP, and installed PM MCP
on it. At first that did not work very well but I have now
installed newer versions of software, installed patches,
and I hope that it works better now.
I first start FS2004, select a previously saved PMDG flight
(Cold&dark at a gate on Schiphol) and then start PM MCP.
The PM MCP automatically starts FS_COM or some other interface to the
hardware, because after having started
the PM MCP, the CP Flight hardware MCP wakes up, displays
the release version of the firmware (1.06) and shows the
default heading and altitude (same as PM MCP is showing).
If this is what you want, please bear with me because I am
still busy installing everything.
I hope this helps, if not maybe you better get in touch
with me so we can try to sort things out, then post
our final results here...
