100 meter terrain data

Can I somehow utilise FS Global 2005 100 meter interval terrain data (
http://fsglobal2005.com/ )within Whazzup Plus and the Boeing GC in lieu of the
1000 meter interval data from http://edcdaac.usgs.gov/gtopo30/gtopo30.asp?

This software has made an extraordinary difference to the the fs2004 flying
experience and it would be great to bring that detail to the rest of the
system.


BTW Does this terrain awareness stuff factor in to what we're doing (
http://www.fswidgets.com ) It looks like a very interesting adjunct to the PM
suite?

I have never looked at the 100 M data in FS, and I doubt I can recycle it...

what would you need that for? Depicting all terrain in the ND?

resolution
from 1000 mtr to 100 mtr grids (more detail)using the FS global 2005

for fs2004.

Hmmm... I think that is a bit of an overkill for what the terrain display is

intended for...

What is the resolution / grid interval like in the real life terrain
display... surely it must be greater than 1000 meters, which misses
displaying many terrain elements?

What is it intended for in real life? Does it have any role as a
forward
terrain awareness and warning system?

Yes, that is what it is intended for, not a map display of any sort. I do
not know what is used in real life, but 1000 meters is enough to keep you
going into some serious terrain upon approach.

Hi
The Terrain Display is just that, a DISPLAY, for visual reference, much the
same as wx radar.
Terrain warnings are generated by GPWS, or EGPWS, and it is these warnings
which are acted on by the crew.
