I am developing a project at one of our preserves using handheld gps units
to locate tax sale tracts of interest when performing an EA in the field.
I
was wondering if anyone has tried uploading shapefiles into a handheld gps
unit. Has anyone tried anything similar to this? I heard that the
Minnesota DNR has a free program that allows shapefiles or graphics to be
uploaded and converted to be used in Garmin GPS handhelds. What kind of
GPS
units and software do you recommend purchasing? Thanks!
