I want to make my trim wheels on my real 737 throttlequad functional with movements while the a/p is trimming. Would the 0/0/4 relay board using 1 for the up trim and 1 for down trim function with the software. Is there a way to distinguish trim going up or down and program it to trigger the appropriate relay to drive the motor the correct direction.?
Thanks,
Rob

Yes you could use the 0/0/4 to control the Trim motors, but you might want to use a speed controller.

The 737 uses a two speed trim. Flaps up and flaps down.

Also you would want to mount a linear variable resistor across the lead screw that moves the trim position indicator. that way you can have FS follow the trim setting on the throttle quad.

What variables could we use David? Manual trim would be easy but i want it to work with the A/P also. On the 2 speed, i was going to use another relay to change the voltage input to the motors for that. It would be triggered by the flaps.

The offsets is an Alan question LOL

You would be better off using PWM to control the motor, thats why I suggested a Motor speed controller.

Hi Rob
I found the link to the motor speed controller

Yep, thats the one. You sent me that link earlier this year and i still have it. That requires a 0-5 volt input correct. So we could use the 2-3 volt outputs of the 8/8/8 correct?

Hi Rob
yes, but the 16/16IO would do a better job
