8/8/8 phidget help

Hello,
I have an interface on my that outputs analog 0-4.5volt signal at 5mA max. Can i hook that into the analog input of the 8/8/8? Will it see it as pot, or something different? Here is the qote from the manual,
Analog outputs may be assigned to airplane attitude or some likes variables. The output range is
0÷4.5Vdc; if assigned to a bi-directional variable (i.e. pitch or bank), the neutral position will be at
half of full-scale voltage (2.25Vdc). Analog outputs have a low current drive capability (5mA max)
and requires external electronic amplification circuits to be used on transducers or indicators. Use
of analog outputs is dedicated to expert users; do not attempt to use analog output if you don’t
have an adequate electronic and technical knowledge.
If it will work, i need a wire schematic to hook up the 1/8 mini plug

Hi Rob,

What you want to do sounds okay to me. This Analog tutorial has the proper info in it so you can understand how to wire up to the Analog input.

Thanks, but will the 5volt from the Phidget interfear with the 0-4.5 output of the signal? I completely understand the hooking up of the pot, or varible resistor but not voltage to voltage. Hope that makes sense? Here is a copy of thier output pinout,

You wouldn't use the +5 from the interface. You would connect the ground to your ground and the output signal of your thing to the analog input of the jack on the 8/8/8.

You would ignore the +5 out on the 8/8/8 because you already have your power source :)
