I am not very practical.
I’m thankful for that, if someone succeeds to help me footstep after footstep
to configure the two encoders and text led that manage the landalt and fltalt
on overhead panel with phidget software v.401

Hi Paolo,
As a first step we need to identify offsets for LandAlt and FltAlt.
Were you able to do that ?
I can help you identify offsets. Let me know.
Regards,
Alan.

Paolo,
Where did you obtain offsets from ?
You should obtain offsets from pmSystems screen by hovering mouse pointer over switch.

Alan.

Paolo,
The offsets for flight and landing pressure altitudes are:
56AC and 56AA respectively.
Both have a length of 2.
I fired up pmSystems and hovered mouse pointer over switches.
Offset, lengths and values are displayed.
(Enrico has more than good looks). LOL
(and his team won the Soccer World Cup).
The offsets in fs2phidgets ini file are incorrect.
My apologies.
I will offer you 3 solutions.
(1) Instructions on how to correct your INI file.
(2) email you a corrected ini file
(3) Both (1) and (2)
Regards,
Alan.

Paolo,
Either send me an email to alan@coconutair.com so that I can send you latest version, or if you prefer to wait a day or two until latest version goes public.
Whichever way you choose, I will help you on this forum.
I have tested latest version with your specific challenge and I know it works.
Set both Flight and Landing Pressure Altitude using Phidget Encoder
Also displayed result on Phidget TextLED and Phidget TextLCD.
New version will allow you to slave a TextLED or TextLCD to an Encoder.
This allows better TextLED and TextLCD response to values being updated in FS by Phidget Encoders.
Regards,
Alan.

Paolo,
Let us start with flight pressure altitude first:
Connect up a Phidget Encoder and a Phidget TexLED.
Fire up pmSsystems and MS-FS.
You should see default values for flt alt and landing alt displayed in pmSystem.
Fire up fs2Phidgets I sent you.
The Phidget Library should be displayed as green.
Flight Simulator/FSUIPC should also be displayed as green.
Press Configure radio button.
List of attached Phidgets should be displayed in the Phidgets list box.
Click on Encoder to highlight.
Select Encoder tab in Componenets list and click on Index 0 to select.
Use drop down list in F.Func File column to select file I sent you.
In Flight Func. Assignment column select FLT_ALT.
Push enable button (goes green).
Turn encoder and you should see flight altiitude increase or decrease.
You may notice that when you turn encoder clockwise the altitude decreases.
Turing anti-clockwise increases altitude.
If you want the opposite check the invert box.
Let me know how that goes.
Regards,
Alan

Ok Alan,
fltalt is recognized now.
fltalt pmsystems display has one decimal more respect phidget display.
Values on fltalt phidget display are incremental and correct up to reach
( 16383###)
later this number, they move on the right of one decimal ,and the values go down
( #16382##)

Paolo,
You will need to do 2 things:
(1) Set range for FS Variable FLT_ALT
(2) Set format for TextLED
Here is how to do (1)
Fire up FSVariable.exe.
Open FS2PhUIPC401.ini using menu (CTRL-O).
Set the high and low values to values you need.
Note: internally pmSystems stores 1,000 feet as 100.
For example entering -100 for low value and 4500 for high value will restrict flight altitude value from -1,000 to 45,000 feet.
Make sure "Wrap values" check box is clear.
Press Save icon.
Number (2):
Fire up FS2Phidget.exe.
Select "Configure" radio button.
Click on TextLED row in Phidget list.
Click on Text LED component assigned to FLT_ALT.
Press "Calibrate" button.
Enter Format as
0000"0"
Press OK.
Regards,
Alan.

Paolo,
Check the following:
In FS2Phidget click on component assigned to FLT_ALT.
Press calibration button.
Make sure Step value is set to 10 (to increment in 100 feet steps).
"Wrap Values" check box should be clear,
if you do not want value to wrap when the high or low value is reached.

Alan.

Hi Paolo,
which PhidgetTextLED hardware do you use?
The one we need (6 Character) is sold out for the last 3 months.
Best regards

Alan,
1) make me an example on as set low and high values to
get on both displays (phidget and pmsystems)
the identical values please.
2) about number positions:
the position of the numbers on phidget display
begin to increase from left to the right.
Numbers should increase from right to the left……

Paolo

Paolo,
Did those suggestions I sent you not work ?
Let us work with one device at a time.
Starting with Phidget encoder.
Did you make settings to value range for FS Values FS_ALT and FS_LAND ?
Did you set Step value and Wrap setting for Encoder ?
Send me an email with a screen shot of FSVariable.exe displaying your FS_ALT settings to alan@coconutair.com
Regards,
Alan.

For the folks listening at home.
We got the the FltAlt and LndAlt on the pmSystems B737 overhead working with both Phidget Encoder and Phidet TextLED.
I made some tweaks to fs2Phidget and this will be available as on Beta download in near future.
Do not set the pressure altitudes less than zero. i.e. negative numbers for below sea level. pmSystems has minimum selectable value of 0 (zero).
To right justify displayed number on TextLED and to replace leading zeros with spaces:
Precede formatting on calibration screen with a ! (exclamation) symbol.
This is a handy formatting feature that I will include in future documentation.
For example !#####"0"
Many thanks to Capt. Paolo Boroni for testing solution.
Regards,
Alan.
