737 Building plans/blueprints

Do any of you guys who have built your own console (by console, I mean the frame that holds the MIP, CDU, MCP etc, etc..) have plans for them?

I am not sure if I am phrasing this right...

Thats an interesting question.

It all stems down to the aircraft your building, and if your going to use purchased panels or not.

If you are going to buy main instrument panels from a company like FDS you should buy them first then build the support to fit the panels. If you decide to carry further with your own, you can get real measurements and figure where your supports will seperate.

I took my measurements from the real aircraft MIP, and seperated the supports where the leg holes went to the rudder pedals.

Also keep in mind how much space you have in your room.

If all the above fails, make the supports so you can fit 3 19" monitors side by side and that will get you started.

Trev, Matt, thanks for the sage advice...

I think I do want to go with purchased panels. I am not good at making things look 'pretty'. I am hoping to do all the underlying support structure myself and leave all the eye candy to the professionals.

Pedro bibloni is the one who made that document. Pedro is a spanish builder very active in the opencockpits forum. He is also the designer of the much used autocad 737 throttle lever designs.

I have also seen a working RMI and Horizon by his hand...this guy is truly amazing with his skills.

He also made a great 737 ng style altimiter/speed gauge.
