Back lighting

:D Something that I newer tought about till I started my project. After seeing some great tuturials like JUANs. I decided to give it a try. I think i'm starting to get the hang of it.

So I made a flap gage paper print ,then I opened a flash light and took out the top then removed the lense. I put it all back together but with the paper gauge in behind the lense. I turned on the flash light and VOILA.

What I'm thinking is jist using the part that you can srew off. Then putting it behind my MIP with a lcd light instead of the light that came with it. This could be connected to what ever interface you have. Now one coudl add whatever needle system the wanted for the gauge to work.

Just a IDea. Sounds nuts a

Hi Radar, I print my gauge faces on clear plastic sheet then place some white plastic sheet from a shopping bag behind them. This gives a much sharper resolution and better light transmission. I have done all the gauges for the 737 Overhead and the flap gauge if you want them.

I was stuck for a Duct Temp gauge for my overhead. It monitors the anti-ice ducts for overheating before the thing catches fire.

I still can't find one, but I did the same as you. I made the gauge face in MS Viseo and cut the face out and stuck it in a Testor's spray paint can cap backed with thin sheet styrene. It just happened to be a 2" cap so it fit right in the Boeing module's hole for the gauge.

A 2" 35mm skylight lens filter serves as a glass cover and I lighted it with a small #74 bulb. It doesn't work, but it looks good lit up.

We are a creative bunch I'll say that.

When it comes time for gauges, I might have to place an order for some gauge faces for the generic gauges I'll have to buy for my 727.

No one makes an EPR guage yet. :roll:
