Ok guys. I am using the PMDG as my flight model. I have been told and hear all the time that it is good except how it drops the nose too much in the turns. Is there another alternative out there? I had heard there was another aircraft being used with good results but I do not remember what it was.. Anyone?

How much is too much Bob?
Any aircraft will eventually slice through the horizontal without enough speed or too much bank.
Is it really pitching down fast and violent?
Any luck on those Korry's?

Well 2 things here really.. How about I am flying a 737! And this is from real pilots that say the PMDG is dropping the nose way to fast and way to much .. They say the real one does not do it that dramatically. 2nd... Looking through my Korrys now.....

Lots of Korrys.. None that you are looking for.....
Hi Bob, Have you tried the posky airfiles at all? I think the kittyhawk is supposed to be good too, Im not a 73 driver though so have never tried them. Arriane is another payware 737.

Thanks Gary.. Will give it a try!

Hi Bob,
This affect is called “horizontal lift deflection” and happens in turns, especially steep ones. When you enter your turn just start giving a little back pressure and this will correct it.
I flew the PMDG (auto pilot “off”) and I did not notice any drastic behavior with it. I do have the newer 737-800, not sure what version you have.

I tried the KittyHawk..I would not recommend it..The flight model is highly unrealistic..It seems to me like the default flight model..Damn tough to control the plane manually...You will notice the heck of a difference in the flight model of PMDG and kittyhawk...Am sure that is not worth the effort just for the steep dive...Even i have not noticed much steep nose down while turn in PMDG...

I am still trying to find THE flightmodel...I use the Freeware dev. Group 737-800. Very stable on TO and Approach¸
I do not like turns though as the plane tends to level wings too fast unless you hold the yoke turned, which is not realistic at all. Does the PMDG do that too?
I adjusted the pitch_stability figure in the aircraft.cfg file ... seemed to improve it.

Hi NicD.. Could you tell me what you did?

The real 737NG pilot who flys my sim and also has his own PMDG set up said the real plane does not sink as much in turns. PMDG is not THAT bad just a little bit of extra pitch up required in turns. Whoispankaj, did you get the right Kittyhawk? Westwind's Kittyhawk has a great airfile and I used it all the time before PMDG came along. My 737 pilot mate gave it the thumbs up too. It's a shame that PMDG don't respond to emails with constructive criticism. They never replied to me on several occasions and it seems they have little interest in the needs of cockpit builders. Nic, I am also interested in your airfile tweeking, how does it go?

Guys - I'll get the exact settings tomorrow for the tweaks, but the main one two in the aircraft.cfg are:
[flight_tuning]
pitch_stability=1.500
elevator_effectiveness=1.300
In fact you can ramp up both of these to around 3.000 to start with and then bump them back a bit (one at a time) until you're happy with the control feel.
Note that the higher your pitch stability is the less effective your elevator will be. But by making both of them higher you reduce the loss of pitch attitude from changes in roll, yaw and thrust.
(I just wish MS would bite the bullet and ditch the current terrible aerodynamic engine .. FS11 should be much more like xPlane!)
