Phidget 0/16/16 - how to get working

I would have read the instructions if there were any, but I cannot get the Phidget 0/16/16 working. In the brief instruction sheet, it says you have to apply power to an input, but do I have to apply a power source to EACH digital input to get it working? How do I power the 16 outputs?

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I'm a little disappointed that this unit is hardly plug and play. I get the mini LEDs built onto the board working using FS2Phidget, but how do I power an LED on the same output? And I see there's loads of 'G' connectors, but no guidance on what these are (assuming electrical Ground) and don't you just need one? There's certainly NOT one per input/output.

And I still haven't got the LED 64 unit working :( Anyone who has set one up got any circuit diagrams?

Thanks Stef - I took a look and found some very very useful information. This has also answered several other questions, not least how to put an old computer power supply to some good use :)
