AIRBUS PFD ND ECAS's please help !!!!
Hello guys
in these days i nearly complete my main panel instrument panel and i have a big problem.
In fsx i use the Aerosoft Airbus extended and in this aircraft i cannot click in PFD,ND , ECAS's to open & drag them into their squares in the main instrument panel plate.
Please anyone help me because i am in a shock right now.
I thank the god because i found here the AIRBUS STBY INSTRUMENT BY JeeHell, but the PFD ND upper & lower ECAS's not.
so
please help me please.

Re: AIRBUS PFD ND ECAS's please help !!!!
Try opening the panel.cfg and searching for gauges names, you could possibly create own panels containing just the display gauges (I am not familiar with your addon but this is a common technique). Check FSX SDK for panel.cfg definitions.
Or you could probably love those: vasFMC | Free software downloads at SourceForge.net (stand-alone PDF, ND, EICAS, MCDU with updatable AIRAC).

Please help me.

Re: AIRBUS PFD ND ECAS's please help !!!!
Try creating new panel windows inside the panel.cfg and inserting one gauge per window (like for example default FS planes which have separate window just for GPS gauge). Do you know what I mean?

Re: AIRBUS PFD ND ECAS's please help !!!!
Hey, no stress :-)
Take a look at one of default airplanes, open their panel.cfg file and just look around, get inspired. You will see they have definitions for various windows (main panel, pedestal, overhead,...) and each panel contains some gauges. Do the same for your panel.cfg (dont forget to backup the original one).
In your panel.cfg you could probably add something like this (off course remove my notes in the brackets):
Quote:
[Window04] (the number will be next available after your default windows- for example if the Aerosoft Airbus has 4 windows, you will put 5 here)
size_mm=300 (depends on your monitor size, resolution,... just try something)
visible=1 (defines visibility after FSX startup, if you have zero you can display the window by shift + some number on your keyboard)
no_luminous=1
ident=MY PFD PANEL FOR AWESOME HOMECOCKPIT (whatever)
windowsize_ratio=1.000 (try and see, usually leave it)
position=7 (doenst matter for first attempts)
zorder=2
view_window_rect=0,0,8192,4900 (finetune after everthing works)
gauge00=Airbusx!PFD (you will need to find this gauge name in your panel.cfg, I believe that Aerosoft has it somewhere there), 346,167, 79, 79 (position xy and dimension xy, just experiment with those until you are happy)
9
If you are not able to script it by writing in notepad, you can get the FS Panel Studio which is payware utility for quick panel.cfg modifications in What You See Is What You Get environment - but I think it is not necessary for just this small thing AND usually doesnt work with payware addons well (you can do new windows, place gauges there, but you will need to edit the gauges names in the notepad)
Pavel
P. S. If you are unfamiliar with those easy edits you could really consider using the vasFMC suite posted above, they are simple windows drag-drop by your mouse, pretty easy to work with, no scripting required.

Re: AIRBUS PFD ND ECAS's please help !!!!
"I cannot do this job alone" - why? Just try it, try playing with default Boeing 737 panel, and so. If you want something, you have to try all your best. This is just a game, projects for fun are what we all are doing. Enjoy learning new things.
There doesnt have to be any 2D cockpit "visible" for you but there are still entries in the panel.cfg. I am not saying it will 100% work, but I have developed an aircraft with virtual cockpit by myself and I know how it sometimes works. Are you at least able to open that file and look inside? I expect you have the notepad on your computer and are familiar with its usage.
"My project going to the **** & i cannot do anything" - I think I have been talking about extremly easy solution by vasFMC, havent I? Did you even try it? No? Why not? Is it too hard to start one EXE file?
If you have any questions just feel free to ask, but I need you to try it and say with what you fail - not to say "I will not even try it because I want somebody else to do it for me". If you dont want to try anything you still can buy some of those commercial turn-key simulators.

You r right.
I will try. Yes i will try to do my best.
Note:
Is the vasFMC are good simulator & give you an amazing experience ?
Is it gives the reality conpared to aerosoft a320 (i don't talken about the aircraft itself, i amtalken about systems)
Also whatabout project magenta, is this softwares are more complex to make them more realistic thanthe aerosoft A320 itself.

Re: AIRBUS PFD ND ECAS's please help !!!!
I think vasFMC can be compared with the AirbusX -> I dont like both of them too much :) But it should work.
PM seems to be far better but for far higher price.

Re: AIRBUS PFD ND ECAS's please help !!!!
Post me here your panel.cfg with your attempts, I will check which mistakes did you do.

Re: AIRBUS PFD ND ECAS's please help !!!!
I still can't see any your entry with your attemt, where is it? We agreed you will try it and I will help you with finding mistake.
Theory about the 2D cockpit: even the 3D cockpit can be seen as a lot of 2D panels just positioned on various surfaces in 3D environment. So we can sometimes steal gauges from them and use them in our own 2D panels. These "fake" 2D panels can be observed as Vcockpit sections in the panel.cfg. Aerosoft uses two of them in their Airbus.
Try inserting the following section between the Window07 and the Vcockpit01 sections. It could create you new window with PFD display. Report result or give me a screenshot. If it doesnt help I will install the AirbusX and take a look at that but it will take some time.

Can you tell me mr brodhaq how to open the window which i added its entries.
(i try by testing shift and press from 1 to 9 but no window is opened).

Re: AIRBUS PFD ND ECAS's please help !!!!
Should be opened automatically when you select 2D cockpit in your FSX... If not I will instal the AirbusX and look at that in few days.

There is no 2D cockpit in this aircraft.
What is the airbus aircraft you use mr brodhaq.

Re: AIRBUS PFD ND ECAS's please help !!!!
I dont use any Airbus because of the poor addon quality, but if I had to use one of them I would choose the AirbusX.
Give me some time and I will try to solve your problem.

Re: AIRBUS PFD ND ECAS's please help !!!!
Okay here is you new panel.cfg. This is how it looks with my AirbusX Extended. Note that I was testing it on A320 CFM engines, if you need the IAE version or A321 just let me know. Works both with A320 and A320 NEO. Note that the Nav Display is somewhat smaller, this is a bug from Aerosoft (so much typical for them), you have to deal with it or try to adjusting the window size by mouse draging. One more about the NAV display - it takes some time to load the gauge after you open the window, wait a minute and it will appear. Just standard Aerosoft mess...
Windows can be opened by the View menu as shown on the screenshot which is my recommended way for dealing with 2D panels in FSX. They work both in 2D and 3D cockpit.
Look into the panel.cfg and see which changes I did, learn it and next time you will see it is a matter of few moments. The whole process took me about 30 minutes.

I hope you are happy now.

Re: AIRBUS PFD ND ECAS's please help !!!!
Okay here is your new panel.cfg with ND and PFD for copilot also. I have tried to solve the small ND problem but I think it is something more advanced which we can't fix by panel.cfg editing. Maybe you could contact Aerosoft with the bug report and ask them to resolve it (attach the panel.cfg).

Everythinh need to do is copy and paste the windows you added to any another engine type of the same aircraft. (for example i need to use it with A321) (example i need to use another engine type of the same A320 ).
I need to open my over head panel on the overhead screan i have.
And need to open the pedestal from the throttle (radios and go back to the end of the pedestal (( the FMC I DON't NEED IT BECAUSE I WILL OPEN IT IN THE SCREEN IN THE FROM OF MY THROTTLE)) ).
Also the last thing ( i need another FMC to the copilot, to open the two FMCs in screen in fron of my throttle ).
please complete the job.
I now i give you a long requests, i now that but no anyone fix my problem except you.
Really you are a good man mr bodhaq.
really thank you so so much.

Re: AIRBUS PFD ND ECAS's please help !!!!
There is no way how I could do window for overhead or pedestal in the Aerosoft AirbusX. You will have to open new "window" inside FSX, switch it to virtual cockpit and zoom to overhead or pedestal in it and then move this window to your other monitors. All I can do as separate windows are displays and MCDU, nothing else. If you want to have 2D panel for overhead consider using Wilco Airbus series addon which have complete 2D cockpit.
So, do you want another window with MCDU or not? Just tell me it before I do it for all those 4 panels (A320 CFM + IAE and A321 CFM + IAE).

Sorry for late reply, I have been working on DC-9 today. I will bring your panel.cfg tomorrow (I hope).
By the way do you have any progress info of your project? For example some photos of your panels or so - just wondering how far you are :)

No , but like you in these days i edit my panel cfg of my pmdg md-11, i do it yes & i undock the ND PFD ECAS's but the another PFD have a problem.
For example : i open the aircraft normally then i undock the PFD ND ECAS's but when i undock the another PFD of the copilot, the PFD of the pilot stops.
By the way this another problem, just now after you complete the CFG's of the aerosoft airbus aircrafts we go talken about these problem.
The important thing after you edit the CFG's to me i will upload the undocked cfg panel to the md-11 to anybody who's need to open this aircraft on his cockpit.
