Direct ARINC to FSX / XPLANE Interface
Flight Simulator Interface to Real Avionics Instruments by V1 Avionics Team — Kickstarter
A very interesting project for interfacing aircraft components to FSX/XPLANE using a ARINC translator...
Looking for funding....
See the intro video, and here is the idea in action...

Re: Direct ARINC to FSX / XPLANE Interface
Thanks Farrokh for introducing!!
Hello guys!! I have been asked by Curd to spread the knowledge about a new outstanding device that will be reality very soon.
What is purposed here is a device which will be capable of comunicate with ANY ARINC 429 (as well as older ARINC 575) based gauge (RMI, altimeter etc.) or module (COMM, XPDR, etc.) and any simulation software which provides an SDK to retrieve and send data. The project is already at a great stage, but the founders are looking to raise necessary funds to start the production of this amazing unit.
If you are interested in this project any donation will be really appreciated!
To give you an example of what this unit can do you can watch the following videos:
VOR Rotation and Heading Test - YouTube
RMI self test - YouTube
Radio Head Integration with XPLANE - YouTube
Each device will be able to support up to 19 data channels. a data channel can be shared between different gauges (like if you have the VOR1 course data, you can share it between captain and first officer RMI using same channel of the Device).
The number of gauges that you can connect to a single device obviously depends on how many data channels the gauge has. In the case of my RMI, it uses 8 different data channels for example, but the same data can be shared between both RMIs in the MIP.
The final price is yet TBD but should be in 150-200 bucks range.
For any information feel free to ask!Last edited by edo17982; 12-22-2012 at 06:32 AM.

Re: Direct ARINC to FSX / XPLANE Interface
Hello,
I too support this interface project. I think it's the most promising interface project for real instruments yet. For all of us who wish to connect real avionic and instruments to flight simulators. This might be a great opportunity for any one who wants to add realism to their simulators. Be it small or large scale projects. So please support Curd and the guys if you think this could be a solution for your simulator as well. I'm pretty sure there will be good support available once some cards are out there and have been integrated into projects. I will definitively use these for my MD80 simulators.
Regards,
Gery

To bad they STOLE almost everyone's money to finance their sim project. Would have been nice to get the product.
Edited to please the minority that they statistically knew would ask for a refund when scam was detected.

Re: Direct ARINC to FSX / XPLANE Interface
They didn't steal anything. They offered ppl who didn't want to wait the interface to be done a full refund. Me like other ppl I know got the full refund.
I don't support em anymore as they didn't respect at all the timeline but please don't say things not true

Re: Direct ARINC to FSX / XPLANE Interface
Hi all! we are working on a similar product but we are NOT looking for investment as everything we do is self funded.
we are about to bring to market a "low-cost" Arinc429 2 channel transmitter. Through my research I stumbled across the V1-Avionics page and looked into their product. Coming from an avionic test background myself I think this is something we can take on!
I just wondered - how many people out there actually have Arinc 429 cockpit equipment in their possession ?
We can also design and make cables to power and interface to your Arinc-429 units to bring your instruments to life!
Any comments would be much appreciated.

Please give us a "like" on facebook www.facebook.com/russellgrahamengineering
Our website is old and being re-vamped so best to check facebook or twitter for the latest.
We will be looking for people to test this out and in exchange keep the hardware (this will be the Arinc 429 interface and associated cabling)
Thanks for your time.

Hi russell
sounds great... are you looking at ARINC 429 to FSUIPC / FS world?

Re: Direct ARINC to FSX / XPLANE Interface
Hello Russell, this is a very interesting thing to read about!
I was actually about to buy my interface from RTX systems (not really low price) as I am using 100% real instruments for my 767 project as well as FMC Computers, Symbol Generators TMC computer and EICAS computers.
That means I am in needs of a really high amount of both Tx and Rx channels and do have all devices ready here for any kind of test.
I do already have properly twisted shielded cable that is compliant to 429 standards.
I would be seriously interested to take part of your test before I choose to go through other solutions.
You can PM me and we can share our personal contacts if you like.
Thanks
Edoardo
