Post I just need to say this

First of all, I don't expect everyone to agree with our policies.

There are over 20 thousand visitors that come to MyCockpit.org and average around 200,000 hits a day, and I know there will be a few that disagree with how we do business. Unfortunately, they are usually the loudest and most heard and disruptive to our cause, as most everyone agreeable to our policies are quite.

The policies come from many years of experience dealing with electronic communications. I started in the mid 80's running a bulletinboard (1 line) with a C-64 and two 1 meg floppy disks. Soon to a dual C-128, two lines, and a 20 meg hard disk drive. Then to a DOS based system multi line BB. Eventually the internet came along and we were the first in our community to make available the internet (this was before the browsers were available).

My point is, it's been a learning experience, and as in my business management experiences, dealing in community involvement relationships and the online experiences..... " You can't please everyone."

I've said this before; My interest here is for fellow builders to help each other build their dreams and I believe we've done that very well.

Vendors, like our site, also can't please everyone, and it's unfortunate, those that are displeased with the not meeting their expectations speak the loudest. Most of the time we don't' hear of the positive side of our vendors and the exceptions they make for their customers. They too become frustrated.

Hopefully, I think you get my point.

We won't allow disruption of our goal and I know most of you stand behind MyCockpit.org policy.

It's impossible to have a 100% content community on a forum. The vocal minority will always have a bone to pick about whatever random topic they have. Don't let it bother you because it'll be a constant thing in a community. Looking at the bigger picture is the important thing. Overall I feel this place does an excellent job at fulfilling the goals of the community. If a few things go wrong here and there it can be chalked up to a learning experience. People who can't get past that need to also look at the bigger picture too and reevaluate their perspective based on what is best for the community as a whole, not just what they've got a bone to pick about. Personal issues and conflicts are best in private where they can be directly addressed.

I've been a forum moderator on another larger forum for several years now. It's definitely an interesting experience to deal with on a daily basis when you have several thousand people a day posting on wide reaching topics and you have to be the cat herder.

    Matt

Well said in the original post. Though I have not been here as much as I used to the sim project is basicly at a stop. My sources for parts dried up as well as the funds. However we have been remodeling the home and only have one large expense to complete. May be in 2014 but after it's complete I will be able to get back putting a system together to at least fly. Then start trying to find the 777 parts. May slowly get the stuff from FDS, there stuff really looks good but cost well a little steep but over time might work it out.

Was looking at new FS computer today and searching best PC. Mac user now so hard to get back into PC's. Looking at the i7 with Win 7 64bit. From what I find here will work fine.

Not sure if I can make Wichita in May. About 4 hours from here. Kind of would like to go but I think I have something already scheduled.

Going to have to give you a call Matt. Been too long..

NHNAnna Curcio says it was for her son, Kaylib, when he got lost after recess at Riverbend Elementary School. Devon Ashbridge, a communications specialist with Springfield Public Schools, says it's up to teachers to decide whether or not to do a head count.

Re: I just need to say this

Matt, well put. I personally cannot express enough the immense value and undeniable support gained from Mycockpit.org community. The critics are many always as usual, however, as the saying goes "A statue has never been erected in honor of a critic". Crediting Jan Sibelius (From 1950 newspaper in Marietta, Georgia) He said,

Pay no attention to what critics say. There has never been set up a statue
in honor of a critic. Most always you will discover that the faults your critics
find in you are multiplied many, many times in their own lives.

All I know is that without this community I would've struggled 10 fold building my sim. I do appreciate the effort you guys are putting into keeping this community going. I have contributed a few times in the past and as I finish typing this I will go and contribute again towards supporting and keeping this going and I encourage everyone to do the same on a regular basis.

Re: I just need to say this

Wow, 200,000 hits a day, and that was in 2009!

Thank you Matt and the MyCockpit team -- this forum has only been friendly (unlike the other cockpit builder forum, bad experience).

May we continue to learn and the forum continue to grow!

Also, I wanted to say a big thank you for setting up the Jeehell forum -- which without, I wouldn't have known about this fantastic software. I have now sold all my Boeing gear, and am on the way to setting my A320
