Glitch with my new ACE 737 yoke
My ACE 737 yoke arrived at work yesterday morning after it's long journey across the pond.
I had a few weeks lead time after placing my order - the ACE team kept me informed of my order status, and I was happy to wait for what I see as being the best of the commercial yoke options on the market.
Having opened the packing crate I was really impressed with the quality of the yoke - it is heavily engineered, and the quality of the casting and finish is superb.
Unfortunately when connected to the sim there is a problem with the ailerons - roll is 50 degrees or more to the left, but barely 30 degrees to the right. Also when I try to calibrate the raw data from the potentiometer changes significantly with the yoke rolled repeatedly from full left to right.
I reckon that the potentiometer has shaken loose in transit, or the link to the potentiometer has come loose.
This is not good, mostly as I have next week off to work on my pit. I don't regret buying the ACE yoke one bit, and I am hopeful that ACE can talk me through fixing the problem or get a spare part on the way to me soon. If only i'd had the money to buy the FO yoke at the same time!
On a positive note the rest of the yoke works well and is a whole world apart from my Saitek yoke in terms of realism. I am sure when tech support at ACE have done their stuff there will be no looking back.

"Also when I try to calibrate the raw data from the potentiometer changes significantly with the yoke rolled repeatedly from full left to right."
I was having a similar problem with rudder pedals from Precision Flight Controls. When I calibrated the pedals they would work fine until I re-booted the computer and then the calibration numbers in FSUIPC would be completely different and the pedals would have to be re-calibrated? Is this similar to your issue? if so I would be interested in hearing how you fix the problem, I was starting to think it must be a faulty pot in my pedals as well.

Re: Glitch with my new ACE 737 yoke
I connected the yoke to a non-flightsim PC and the problem was still there: if I move the the yoke repeatedly from left to right during calibration the raw data values at the extremes of travel are different every time, and there is a clicking noise mid travel. I am confident this is mechanical - it isn't possible to calibrate the ailerons at all.
