BAe146 Annunciators
Hello all
Finally got the annunciator panel the way I want it. Here is a link to one of them...another bunch to go!
I have made them out of foam and hard stock paper. Microsoft Power point makes a very good tool to draw out the templates.
The annunciator legends are not engraved lexan, but rather OHP transparencies made up on MS ppt. I then print them, cut to shape, and glue in place.

Re: BAe146 Annunciators
Great looking annunciators!
So are you saying that you cut each label and then glued them together somehow? Or did you print the legends all in one piece?

I would really appreciate any more details you might have Jim. Trial and error is fun but getting it right the first time is even better. I see your from Nova Scotia, I was born in Sydney but moved out West when I was a kid. Nice to see a fellow bluenoser on mycockpit.

Re: BAe146 Annunciators
Hello Reid,
What I actually do is print the entire annunciator panel that I am going to use on a sheet of OHP transparency plastic. I print a duplicate in order to glue one on top of the other which eliminates light bleed around the legend(s).
You have to be careful to apply the glue to the 'smooth' side of the OHP as the other side (rough) has the ink. I usually just apply small 'daps' of glue around the legends and edges, then press them together making sure that they both line up. Stick them into a book to compress them, then trim to fit with an Xacto knife after they are dry.
I use Weldbond glue...it sticks to anything, dries clear, and wouldn't eat away at the foam board.

Re: BAe146 Annunciators
If anyone is interested in the annunciator construction process. PM me with your email address and I will send you the word file. It is 11 pages long and describes it in depth....just don't spell check me.
I would like to post it here, but not sure how to do it.
