X-Plane hardware about to be very easy and low-cost
Hi X-Plane users,
You might be interested in what we've been discussing at x-plane.org recently...
The Teensy USB board costs $16, has 25 digital IO pins, 12 analogue input, and/or 7 PWM outputs.
The Teensy++ costs $24, has 46 I/O pins, 8 analogue inputs, and/or 9 PWM outputs. (But not all at the same time.)
They can function as Anduino devices and use the libraries developed for Anduino to interface with a huge range of hardware - LED displays and such. And the guy who makes them has made it possible to interface that hardware directly with X-Plane's commands and datarefs!
Take a look here. Paul didn't know anything about X-Plane until I emailed him to ask if Teensy could work with X-Plane just over one week ago. Already he's configured a 1.2" $16 Teensy to operate a radio tuner, with a rotary encoder, two buttons and an LED matrix display: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?...0&#entry622081
More details to follow, but it looks like a very exciting time for X-Plane hardware is about to begin...- Dozer
