Dangerous runways
Hello All,
You all know that out in the real world there are some very dangerous runways. Travel + Leisure has made a list of those. The full list can be viewed at:
http://www.travelvivi.com/the-most-d...s-of-the-world
The Princess Juliana International Airport at Saint Maarten is such a dangerous one. The runway is only 2000 meter long. Pilots have to fly very low over the beach of Maho to be able to use the very first part of the runway. Travel + Leisure categorized it to the worlds second most dangerous one.
Tourists at Honduras keep there eyes close as they come close to Toncontin airport. The planes need to make a very low 45° turn before the landing. Not so safe for the people outside the airport and in the vicinity of the runway. The runway is categorized to be number 7 on the list of most dangerous runways.
The runway at Skiathos airport, Greece is not on the list but also here the planes need to fly very low to be able to use the full runway.
Kai Tak is also not on the list but the video is interesting because it’s filmed from the ground in stead of from the cockpit. The runway was close to the harbour, close to mountains and buildings. Planes flew low over the city.
