Projector question
Has anyone used an ULTRA short throw projector? Due to severe space limitations this is the only projector solutiion that might work for me if I go that route...too little for even a short throw. Any feedback is appreciated.

Re: Projector question
Hi Kevin!
Yes. The Hitachi CP-AW250N. Actually three of them. Alignment and focusing can be tricky especially if you use more than one. I would not use these UST-projectors on curved screens, they don't focus. What kind of visual system do you have in mind?

Re: Projector question
Henri thanks you have prevented me from making a big mistake. I am rebuilding my 737 sim. I have been using one 60" plasma display for outside visuals. I just got a matrox triple head digital and want to upgrade my visual system using that. Was considering building a curved screen with three projectors vs three flat panels but my room is only 12ft wide and 8 ft tall by about 9ft deep thus the need for the ultra short throws, I think. Would also consider flat projector screens. Any advice is much appreciated.

Re: Projector question
Kevin,
Be patient, I'll take some photos later this week for you to look at.
Whatever solution you decide to go for note that the TH2G has no support for HDCP. (Or does it? Have not checked lately.) This might become an issue if you want a digital signal all the way through. Learned this the hard way, unfortunately. At least the CP-AW250N's HDMI-connection needs a HDCP complient signal. To our disapointment we were forced to use VGA-cables between the TH2G and the projectors. This solution made the picture adjustment go from "tricky" to "nightmare".

Re: Projector question
Hi there,
I also have one Hitachi CP-AW250N.
Would love to see pictures of a triple setup with my projector.
Other than that the Hitachi CP-AW250N is excelent in my eyes for a single setup when there is no spacwe available.

Re: Projector question
That looks great...ultra short throws? Are you using a matrox? I think I may have the space for short throws...looking at Benq or Optoma with a curved screen and Ivars warpalizer software with the triple head...am I missing anything? Thanks BeaconOne for the inspiration!

Re: Projector question
Nope, no Matrox here anymore. Prepar3D running in multichannel. The space available is about 3,3 meters (11 ft) wide and 2,6 meters (8 ft) high. The visual had to be made movable (it has wheels!). This together with the sim (airframe) itself presented a challenge and we ended up with this solution. It's not perfect, however.
