Re: 6DOF home motion platform
Hi Thanos,
Markus did a great job! seems he and I are working with similar actuator designs.
Nice to see the rig in action, and definitely great motion. Can't wait to get mine up and running, but building 6 actuators is a lot of work. The sawdust has settled, and now I have 6 boxes, but metal works still need to be mounted.
Looking forward to your PWM controller!

Re: 6DOF home motion platform
Fabi uploaded more videos of this platform after calibrations of the VFD inverters and the PID settings on the AMC1280USB:
He is using Ian's 6DOF BFF software on the above video.

Re: 6DOF home motion platform
I have been building my motion base based on Thanos controller ..... i must say he is simply awesome when it comes to support and guidance. so far i am 1.5 years into this project but the end is near .......

Platform needs calibration, just a test video...

Re: 6DOF home motion platform
I think this kind of range of motion would be enough for flight sims:

Re: 6DOF home motion platform
Hi very nice project, I have just one question ,
most platforms are build for one man and a chair ,
is it the limitation of weight and inertia, how much weight can it take and move around?

Re: 6DOF home motion platform
Hi Henk,
These platforms are engineered for max load 500kg, but I've seen a really good stress test recently on one of them:

There are bigger ones in progress, with max load 1200kg like the one that Mike is building for a 737NG cockpit. More info about his project here: http://motionsim.blogspot.com/2014/0...r-project.html
Thanks
