Nav 1, 2 audio buttons and VOR ident push-pull way of functioning?
Hello,
I would like to ask what happens, if VOR Ident Push pull knob ( 2 ) from the
Picture above is pulled ( to enable Morse Code ID ) , but Nav 1 button ( 1 )
is switched off during that time.
- Would that disable Morse Code ID too, or VOR ID signal will stay on,
Despite Nav 1 switch being in OFF position.
Furthermore – if VOR radio is tuned, Nav 1 switch is on and voice transmission ( airmets, sigmets , FSS voice transmission , etc is heard trough the speaker , would pulling VOR ID knob and enabling Morse ID,
going to disable human voice trough
speaker, or both ( voice and ID Morse ) will sound simultaneously?
I hope, you guys have the answers to that and wouldn’t mind sharing some knowledge
Thanks and happy flying to all.

Re: Nav 1, 2 audio buttons and VOR ident push-pull way of functioning?
Hello:
Audio Panel is mandatory:
Case 1:
NAV 1 OFF in Audio Panel.
No audio is heard from NAV1.
Case 2:
NAV 1 ON in Audio Panel.
The NAV IDENT knob is active in the pulled out position so that both voice and ident can be heard.
When this knob is pushed in, the ident tone is attenuated. The volume of voice/ident can be adjusted by turning this knob.
Anyway, this function is not implemented in Flight Simulator.
Check the real manual here:

Regards.

Re: Nav 1, 2 audio buttons and VOR ident push-pull way of functioning?
Hi Horacio,
Glad to hear from you.
I’d red that manual already, and for some reason I’ve missed the part concerning “
.....so that both voice and ident can be heard. “
Thank you for pointing me out in the right direction.
Yea… I suppose, you are right – after FS 9 MS thought less about Flight and more about Simulation. I’ll be ecstatic to see any new functions, implemented in “new” versions. Here is yet another issue to overcome – right at this moment I am trying to
put together some circuitry , resembling two Comm/Nav radios and one KN62a DME equipment below . And here it comes the toughest part. – when kn62a mode button is in position RMT, DME is tuned from VOR 1 radio ( good for me ) . And , when the mode switch is in FREQ mode , DME is tuned directly. But, the thing is – there are only two VOR frequencies available within FlightSim and they are already used by nav1 and nav2 radios. If I try to tune DME , then one of two nav radio’s frequencies is going to be readjusted . Don’t know , is there a way to create a third VOR/DME frequency , or the guys, who accomplished it , used different kind of “smoke and mirrors” I’ll think about it….
