Re: A320 FMGS B44
Has anyone experienced Windshear alert with FMGS?
I only have the warning from Active Sky Next, but not from FMGS.
Red text "WINDSHEAR" on PFD only shown up when we slew the aircraft.
I hope JL can confirm "Windshear" is simulated with FMGS or not ?
Thanks

Re: A320 FMGS B44
Hi Fil -- I think the only difference i made in the flight plan was changing the Cost Index...instead of using 30 like I usually do, I selected 80 or 100. Could that make a significant difference?
Please try on your end if you have time, thanks.

Re: A320 FMGS B44
Anyone else having problems with increasing brake temperatures after landing and rollout in the latest build?
Seen even with autobrake LOW.

Re: A320 FMGS B44
@ben: the cost index has nothing to do with that....CI plays a role in the speed fmgs uses in climb and cruise. as i reported never experience this and i cannot reproduce it.
@SSO: the brake temperature increasing after landing during rollout and taxi seems fully correct now....even using autobrakes at low it's fully correct to have brake temperature rising to some 300°!
in the past this was not simulated at all and it was not correct.
all the real 320 pilots flying my sim found consistent the brake temperatures displayed on SD.

Re: A320 FMGS B44
as it is simulated now it implies the pilot makes the right decisions (autobrake setting according to rwy lenght, autobrake use time, manual braking, reversers use) as real pilots are supposed to....according to next flight delay time and so on.
if u just set autobrakes and let autobrakes do their action until the aircraft comes to a full stop it's pretty normal to have temperatures rising to 400° or above.

Re: A320 FMGS B44
SSO the maximum brake temperature is not reached AT touchdown but during rollout and taxi in...this applies to every aircraft its due to the carbon material used in brakes components which keep heating up after the huge friction applied in the braking actions.
just an example of operational: some old school captains preferred an hard and short braking action right after touchdown and use the rollout as a sort of braking cooling action due to the air passing thru the brakes' elements.

Re: A320 FMGS B44
Hi Fil, I've retried the same flight to LOWW and the aircraft again did not slow to approach speech. This time even when operator mode was selected to slow down the speed the aircraft did not respond! I had to take control of the throttle and disconnect A/P but it was too late; ended up overshooting the RW :-/
Here are some shots of my setup -- can someone also try the scenario and report back? I was landing on RW34. Thanks.
