Problems with new PC and FSX tweaks

I just started up my new computer:
MSI Z170A M5
EVGA 1070 FTW
Intel i5 7600K

This should run FSX OK.
There is no problem with the computer, it works perfectly with other games and benchmark.'

After some back and forth with tweaking fsx.cfg and adjusting the sliders on fsx settings page according to NickN's Bible, I returned the sliders back to medium/low setting.
Loading trike in an standard scenery I get FPS 1-2. It is impossible to run it like this.

Any suggestion about what to do.

I have tested some more.

I started run fsx in different compatibility modes, and one of the times it worked as expected in XPsp2. I then got a GPU-load of 15% and that seems ok. The next time i run fsx it doesn't work again, get a GPU-load of 0%.

I have now tried going back and forth between these modes, but no luck so far.
