ahh the memories. Cabled one of those up a while ago. Great place to sleep though, up the back in what we called the chapel. Always found apprentices in there sleeping after a late night out.

Strange how wonky some of those systems look to be built. All the pressure on that Jack screw and thats all that holds the stab level.. Sheesh, and the cables under the throttle quadrant don't look to sturdy.
I think I was better off not knowing whats under the floor LOL________________________

Amazing video! Thanks for posting. Btw if anybody interested about angles the column is moving by trim - let me know. In this video one thing is not right. While trim button is pressed, column moves together with stabilizer by neutral shift mechanism. That was not shown on the video.
about reliability of the cable system - its much better then rod system. In case of structural damage its more likely to jam rods, then cables. Also there are force limiters and clutches to release working system from the jammed one. In worst case you can fly the plane using only stab trim in case of control column jam. So dont worry, 737 is a very nice plane from the safety perspective Even the old models.

Re: 737 stab trim video
I was just checking to see if my video was worth uploading? If there is enough demand I'll post more.
