PMRJ Nav Screen VOR Displays
Could some check this and verify you are seeing the same?
I happened to be at KCTL and noticed on low Nav display range settings the KCTL VOR is displayed. However, if I increase the range, the VOR is not displayed.
I don't recall the actual point at which the VOR disappears but possibly at 40 miles. Here is some information on the VOR.
Type: VOR/DME
Class: L-VORW/DME
Frequency: 115.00
TACAN channel: 097X
Altitude code: L (low)
Use at high altitude: yes
Is this correct for the RJ? Is KCLT VOR a special VOR and therefor does not dispaly at greater ranges? Or is this a problem with the RJ software?

I'm not sure what the software is doing, but the description of the VOR is conflicting. It states it's a low-altitude VOR, possibly a Terminal VOR, but then states it's use for High-Altitude. Granted, the High-Altitude VOR's start at 40 miles, but altitude limit is typically below 14,000'
Terminal VOR's have a typical trange of 25 miles and low-altitude VOR to 40 miles so this might be why it is disappearing as you increase the range ring.Boeing Skunk Works

Thanks for the info on VORs. Could explain the issue but I still could use a fellow RJ user to check and reply.

Tim
I am sorry to say that my sim is not accessable at this time, or I would offer to take a look...

Thanks for the reply Eric.
Just an update. The airport in question is Charlotte, KCLT, not KCTL as orginially written.

Thanks Mike.
I recently updated the PMRJ nav display with the latest Navigraph NavData. I had hoped that the old PM navdata was the issue. Since the VOR still disappears, it may be a PMRJ issure or as BSW sugggested, a normal VOR range depiction.

I have the same issue but i noticed that (useing G and H keys) anything above 40 and i no longer see the VOR but as i go back down in range i can see it until i get to the 25 range then it is gone but only on that range zooming into a closer range it reapears.

Now that is really odd.
No harm done in reporting it to PM. I only hope it will be addressed one day.
Thanks for checking.

Try using a Terminal VOR (25 mile range) at an airport within range from an airport at which you are currently on the ground and extend the range rings beyond the Terminal VOR range and see if this happens again.
If this VOR doesn't appear at or beyond the 25 mile range ring or closest to that, I'd say it's part of the software programming.
Any experienced pilots here familiar with this system aboard the actual aircraft?Boeing Skunk Works
