737-717-CRJ -RJ Pit (or whatever)
Hi guys,
Just thought I would show my progress so far on my generic jet pit. I have finished the main panel console, the projector system and some other stuff ... The pics don't show the center pedestal console or the dual controls yet.. I also have to install my goflight stuff which will be center mounted between the main monitors and above the center pedestal monitor (not shown)
Still looking for a used GoFlight MCP (not the pro version, just the 7.5 inch wide one) Anyone have one for sale?
I also have a windshield frame mocked up that is removeable so I can have one that mimics the 737 and one that does the 717 (my favorites)
I bought Reality XP gauges for the panels which are flipped from Pilot to FO with a click.
This build has really increased my love for the sim.. my wife would say that is not possible but it is
I owe a lot of that to the great info I have found here.. So officially... THANK YOU.... "Lots more to do but just getting started"
Best Wishes, Jeff

Well done, looks great!
Nice visual and I like your panels. I also like how you built your glareshield.

Thanks Fella's!
Been a lot of fun so far and flying is way more exciting than it was with my old setup..
Miscotti, what I did was use a dual head ATI X1950GT for the main pilot view and the projector. Then I enabled the onboard video in Bios and fed the third (FO) monitor. I undock and drag them to the right places... And set the digi zoom on the projector to 1:15 instead of 1:1...That way the undocked frame goes away from the outside view and doesn't add much zoom... Which I found makes landings a real challenge..LOL
The glareshield is made of that dark grey pipe wrap stuff..It has a slit down the length and you just split it and feed it over the plywood edges... Glues down easily.. Looks pretty good and it was cheap... I think I paid $3 for enough to do the whole glareshield with some left over.. I plan to "edge" parts of my pedestal and console with the left over...
The really hard part of all of this was figuring out how to save all of the views so it is not a hassle whan I open FS.. Actually learned how to do it from a post here in the forum.
Thanks for the kind words... Now on to adding the modules...

Update Finally
Hi Guys...
A lot of things done on the generic "low budget" monster.. Wife is still around too! About $1600 in the PC and $350 in controls and goodies..$450 in projector and dual 17 monitors... $200 in the wood and fasteners... All gauges are in the glass...(Reality XP) the others are poorly done fakes (but you already knew that...) Adds a little something nonetheless...
Waiting for: (wishlist)
- Go Flight MCP (not pro version)
- Go Flight push button switch module
- Go Flight versatile module
- LED light strips
- Overhead (of sorts)
So..here it is... In all its glory....
Not out of focus on the projector.. bad focusing by the photographer...
Still need to mount overhead support.... build cabin floor.. Build seats... etc..... Thanks for the ideas and support I have received from our elite helpful membership!! It is really appreciated!

Nice update Jeff,
How are those Saitek yokes working out for you? I heard some had difficulty with the initial release versions. Your obviously a dab hand at panel modifications by the look of it.
Thanks for sharing,
Ken.

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the note. I have not had any issues with the Saitek "phantom key" problem. I heard about them early on and delayed the purchase for several months. So far they have been working perfectly and both yokes work great together.
One thing to note I did not use the Saitek software at all..
Thanks for the comments
Jeff
