In order for anything other than default aircraft to be displayed correctly to others in multiplayer, you have to have the exact same aircraft installed in your sim as the person's plane you are viewing.

That being said, for this flight (above) I will be flying the following aircraft:

    Jon Murchison BAe 146-200

    http://63.217.28.218/files/47jets/bae1462k4.zip

    In the following repaint:

    United Express

If you are interested, please post a link to the planes you will be flying. For payware planes, just indicate the aircraft.

I wish I could join you guys, but I'm not set up for on-line yet.

You'll get better milage if you push up the altitude to FL320-FL340. That's not too high for a nearly 400 NM trip. 'Course that depends on what you're flying too.

    Michael,

True. The Flight Level above is just a "general target".....nothing fixed about it. Your personal airline you work for will dictate your exact flightplan level based on careful analysis of cost factors .

One consideration in this kind of group flight is the aircraft that people are flying. Some people might have a ceiling at about FL300. I think some regional jets and corporate jets don't go as high as the 737, 747, A320 and A340 crowd. My BAe 146-200 is not happy at FL320..... and at that level and Mach .70......... it makes "coffin corner" looming VERY close.

In fact, just before the flight I will be posting the Active Sky "forecast winds aloft" METAR report here in this thread so that everyone can see what various FLs winds will likely look like. It works slick for FLCH,...and is pretty darn accurate. I've saved fuel and time a number of times using that function of ActiveSky 6.5. It SHOULD match up with folks using the default FS real world weather as long as they have "download winds aloft" checked off in the sim.

So on this flight some folks might be higher and some might be lower. As in the real world. The more imporant parts are the SID and STAR....and even that is flexible as **** .

At some point if these group flights start to get popular...... we WILL have to address the issus of needing ATC to make everything smooth. Nice problem to have...... so hopefully it WILL eventually happen.

    best,

    ..................john

    Tim,

Look at the top of the forum page here for the link to setting up a Teamspeak account. Follow the directions .

To check your ports situation use the link posted above for a little program. Go to the ChocolateSoftware website forums for more info on opening ports. I'll post another link about this "port" issue shortly. THIS is the great boogie man in fs multiplayer. And if you have a router... it gets more complicated.

As to connecting to the server, more on that in a while too.

    best,

    ......................john

PS: EXACTLY which A320.... please post a link to the exact aircraft downloads (unless it is payware).

John, I am impressed by the amount of effort you have put into setting this up, and the great attention to detail. I am at work making electricity this week, so I can't join in. I hope others can reap the benefits of your efforts. Enjoy captains.

    AK49er,

    Thanks!

I just hope there are some people who end up participating. Lots of views on this thread.... but not a lot of responses.

However, it is the first one... so I am not really expecting a lot.

    We will see..........

Sorry you can't make it. We'll all burn up some of your electricity powering our pits.

    best,

I hope some show up too. Wish I was one of them. No cabling to get to the computer though.

Sort of crappy in Denver, and not much better in Salt Lake.
