Flying on line FS 2004, multiplayer, VATSIM

Hello fellow simmers.
I started to fly on line using vatsim, the only problem I found so far is that I can find only one vatsim server located in san francisco.
Are there any servers on southern california, if so how do I find them????.
My next question is how do I fly on line with other simmers, maybe like combat flying. ???
And also where I can find simmers to do multiplayer flying.
I would appreciate any information you guys can give me.

Checkout FS Host. You can fly with others using FS9 or FSX and as there are many different types of pilots, you'll likely find someone who enjoys the same type of flying...

For combat flying you will want something like IL-2 1946 with Hyperlobby, and possibly teamspeak. For Jets - Falcon 4.0 Allied force. I have not tried Falcon 4 online yet, but IL-2 is superlative. But I warn you, it has a steep learning curve, if you think your gonna jump straight in and take those bogeys out you're in for a shock!
