PM - Windows 7 - Network
Hi all,
my client-PC with the pm GC & CDU stuff broke. Because it was a old one I decided to replace it with a Win7 machine, in mind step by steps in nearer future to replace the Server-PC too. (pm-systems, mcp and FSX).
I find it very difficult to find out a good network setting. Finally I put all the PM software in a subfolder in the public folder, because I was unable to get access the server, for instance to the c:\data\fstools folder. In the beginning I thought about to place the pm software for easy backing up into a seperate partition. My precise question is now: Does anybody has worked out a network setting for the pm software? Are there any experienced Win 7 (professional) users around?

Are all your computers on Win7? Win7 made it easier only if everyone is using Win7.

Just right click over the folders you want to share and select "share with". Then select the network group you are using and select the "read/write" option.
If the shared folders work, then doing this should fix the problem.Grant D.

Re: PM - Windows 7 - Network
Server is WinXP professional Client is Win 7 professional. Up to now sharing a non-public folder on the Win7 machine does not work. This is what I`m looking for. BTW the public folder on the Win 7 machine had to be shared too.

Re: PM - Windows 7 - Network
hello all
i would like to ask i have updated my systeme to win7 64 bit
using FSX i am getting 1 client to make a network
i am setting up an a320 i do not know how fsx and PM work in a net work
i have not decided what softwere to use it will be PM or AST
for airbus
i noticed that win7 works very well with FSX than what it did with XP
my problem at the moment is what client to use
I have as a sever
2.8GH INTEL CURO2 DUO
4G RAM
NIVIDIA 9600GT 1 G
MATROX
with
FSX
WIN7 64BIT
what i was thinking of doing is getting a 3.0GH INEL CORE2DUO
for the server and using the 2.8 for a client
can some one give there opinion on what to do
or should i just get a chep 300 euro pc with open gl video card
and leave the server as it is??????
kind regards

Re: PM - Windows 7 - Network
If you are entirely happy with your FSX Server keep it, but be sure with full weather settings and a demanding Addon Airport you have a good performance in turns. If not, think about an update and keep your server as client. I use pm for B737, and I´m satisfied with it.
