A320 FMGS B31

yesterday night had a little time for the sim, so installed 31.2 on top of 31.1 on both server & client pcs...when launching FMGS on server pc i got an error message saying the .dat file (navdata 1) was in use from another application.
tried quitting and restarting FMGS but the error appeared over and over.
had no time to close windows and restart.
am i doing something wrong? or do i need to follow a precise procedure jl?

Hi Filippo!

I didn't tested so far, but installing on top of 31.1 would not stop and remove the FMGSnavDB service, which has been replaced by a client application as JL wrote in his last post. So the .dat file is most probably still in use by the FMGSnavDB service.
Maybe permanently disabling the service will help or simply uninstall 31.1 first.

the service was stopped as per installer....even if i suppose the issue comes from there!

Hi

The installer should have uninstalled the service. If it is no longer marked as running then the problem is probably in the new navdb app.
Try to run the software manually, or rename the navdb app to another name and run it after the fmgs server has started.

I'll look at that tonight.

Hi again,

I found a bug related to the error message with the report Fillipo had.
Download again the B31.2 and reinstall over previous installation, it should do the trick.

just tried new 31.2:
yesterday got the error message referring to navdata1....today same error but referring to navdata2!
any idea?
should i try a fresh install uninstalling completely fmgs?
i checked and the old service had been removed and not running of course!
which other application could use the .dat file???

I put the auto update back online. There is already one new update available which should fix the navdata bug at FMGS Server startup.
