Re: Fully Functional TACAN HSI - Finally complete!
Hi Nico,
Thank you so very much for your offer to help; it is really, really appreciated and I'm sure I will find your advise invaluable!
In terms of programming, I'm planning on getting the Course Pointer finished first (as I said, I have done the code for this I just need to write it for the full 360 degrees). Then, I will begin on the VOR deviation bar, then finally the pulse counter (which, I think, should be fairly simple).
For the glideslope, I can use identical logic for the VOR deviation bar as they move in a similar fashion, just vertical instead of horizontal.
And, of course the flags and illumination just function like normal outputs, so I can do these.
So yes, I will certainly need your help at certain stages (after all, you know ALOT more about SIOC than I do!).
Once again, thanks so much for your offer to help; it is very kind of you! Also, I'm really glad you found the post interesting; it is certainly the most technical thing I've ever done, so I'm so glad it has paid off!

PS: The Saitek Yoke you sent me arrived perfectly a few weeks back (a day after your email); I am so sorry I forgot to email you back, but rest assured you sent me a brilliant product!
Kindest regards,
Jack

Wow, that's fantastic. How did you power the motors ? I mean, they must probably be powered by some exotic voltage ? I have an original Boeing 737 flaps indicator but I always thought the 24V / 400Hz was a bit daunting. However your post has inspired me to take a closer look at it.

Re: Fully Functional TACAN HSI - Finally complete!
Hi !
Great stuff !
Have you tried connecting it to fsx already ? I'm wondering if your running into the same problems I was having ! Mostly motor speeds . If you hook one of the needles up to let's say vor 1 or 2 they have to run quick to keep up not to loose any steps and just start pointing in any direction .
Best regards Remco

Hi Remco,
Yes indeed, I know exactly what you mean. I have the motors set to maximum speed in the script... And that's the best you can do really. I don't tend to perform violent turns that often so it isn't much of a problem.
