Re: Problem with 4th Mastercard
Jerry,
Don't put more than 5v on the Master card. PC p/s are dirt cheap and have plenty of current available.
If you need further help just ask.

Re: Problem with 4th Mastercard
Thanks, I'll try changing to a larger wire first and if that doesn't work I'll go to ver. 1.0c.

Re: Problem with 4th Mastercard
Hello Jerry,
Last night I was reading the Open Cockpits Manual for the USB card. I need to retract my earlier post regarding the need for a 5V power supply. Can you check the manual (At the top of one of the later pages - can't remember the page number) but it says that each of the four Master Card requires 5 volt but NOT the USB Card. In fractured English, it says the 5V connection on the USB card is an output for small accessories - not a 5V input. Maybe that is causing the problem?
Try that and see what happens?

Re: Problem with 4th Mastercard
Haven't had time the past week to work on this. I powered each of 4 mastercards with a separate 18ga cable from the power supply. Didn't make any difference. I wasn't connecting anything to the 5V input on my Expansion card. I just tried turning on each Digital Output individually in the SIOC Monitor (all 4 cards) and now with all outputs on there is no error message and all the leds I have connected so far (133) are on. Seems to me the problem is with the ALL ON/ALL OFF Commands in the monitor. I tried clicking ALL OFF and I got the same Access Violation error and none of the outputs went off. Funny, it works fine with 3 cards enabled though.

Re: Problem with 4th Mastercard
Guys,
Does this error still occur if you disconnect the 5volts to the Master cards?.
If it does then I don't think its a P/S problem.
The problem when one has turn ALL Leds on or off there is a Sudden load on the P/S which can lead to spikes
and glitches which affect software.
Please report back the results.
Les
P.S Have you tried to write a small sioc script to turn leads on and then off. Maybe tie it to
a switch. Your problem maybe a Monitor one and this would prove it.

Re: Problem with 4th Mastercard
Hi Jerry
New SIOC version (4,6B1) available: Opencockpits
They have added a nice sioc.ini editiing feature+++
Includes a new release of SIOC Monitor (1.41).
Give it a try and it would be nice to get a feedback.
On my small rig I don't see any problems.

Re: Problem with 4th Mastercard
Forgot to come back with this post. When I installed the new version of SIOC it solved my problem with the 4th Mastercard. Thanks for everyone's input.
