I can recommend a few items that I personally use:
http://www.goflightinc.com/order/index.php for throttle, comm/nav, autopilot, landing gear/flaps/trim
http://www.simpilot.com/avsim.htm for AFCS III yoke
Items I do not have but may interest you:

Hi,
I have built a G1000 MFD and PFD and I am sure if you follow Andy Ts advice you will be successful if you do not wish to modify a small monitor surround!
The advantage of using the monitor enclosure is that you end up with a self contained instrument that is easly reproducible with minimal cabling and wires.
Bill.

Any updates to this thread?
Would someone know the physical dimensions of a G1000 PFD?
Overall bezel height and width.
Screen height and width. Assuming a 12 inch diagonal display.
Width of top, bottom and both sides of the bezel.
Can someone post a few pictures of your completed G1000 with monitor/screen installed?

The screen is actually a 10.4 inch which you can get here: http://www.tftlcdpanels.com/10.4%20i...,4_XGA_LCD.htm
Now that is a brand new Aviation grade screen so the price will reflect that.
You could look around online and find one used or not aviation grade and save some money if you like.
Prof Bill,
Your picture links did not come out. All I get is a very small corner of a picture. All in .gif format. Can you post .jpg's? Or send them to me via mail?

I'm shooting for the Cessan Mustang's which are 12 inch for the PFDs and 15 inch for the MFD, but any measurement will do right now.
Yes, those are expensive displays. The 15 inch is simple to source but even the 12 inch is a difficult find at an inexpensive price.

First off, look for a deeply discounted 15" LCD monitor. Just what you need. And you can find all of these on ebay.
You're looking for replacement notebook screens in the sizes you need.God's in command, I'm just the Pilot.

I can't tell from looking at it if it's a widescreen.
I'm going to write the guy and ask and also ask what else I'll need to use it as a stand alone monitor rather than replacing a laptop screen.
It looks as though the inverter is included.Boeing Skunk Works

That is a good point! Is it a complete working monitor or just an lcd "screen".
