Donīt confuse the Electrical generators with the Packs one thing has nothing to do with the other... The amber Fault light appears on ground on the generators with the Engines off that is the normal operation of the system... Same thing in all Airbus aircraft like the A-300, A-330 Etc... Pack 1 and 2 are in the auto lights off position. In that picture they are in FAULT cause there is no Air Bleed suplying the packs... The APU is off!

    Conclusion:

    1.
Aircraft is powered by BAT only
    - EXT PWR pb. is "AVAIL" if external power is plugged
    -
FUEL PUMPS is "OFF" if in the Gate
    -NO AMBER LIGHTS on overhead

    2. Aircraft is powered by EXT PWR only (EXT PWR pb. is "ON")
    - GEN 1 and GEN 2 pb.'s is "FAULT"
    - PACK 1 and PACK 2
    pb.'s is "FAULT"
    - NO OTHER
    AMBER LIGHTS on overhead

    3. Aircraft is powered by APU (APU MASTER SW and START pb.s is "ON")
    - GEN 1 and GEN 2 pb.'s is "FAULT"
    - PACK 1 and PACK 2 pb.'s is "FAULT" if APU BLEED pb. is in auto (extinguished),
    if APU BLEED pb. is
    "ON" than NO PACK's "FAULT".
    - NO OTHER AMBER LIGHTS on overhead

    Please correct me.

I am the one confused now... LOL!

Dude really simple if the Bleed is ON which in that case is an ON/OFF Switch not an auto system... This is where you don't have to be confused... just cause there are no lights doesn't mean that the system is in auto... The APU Bleed is manual operation on and off basically if it is extinguished is in OFF.

The picture you sent me the Pumps are actually ON that is a normal panel configured before Start except that the APU is not ON cause they have the external to save GAS so you turn the APU on just before you start the engines...

The Gen lights will always be in Fault if the Engines are off PERIOD... Pack 1 and 2 are Fault in amber cause there is no Bleed air suplying them NO APU...

    Roberto
