Re: If you could build a second cockpit...

Originally I would like to have made a MD-80 cockpit. But the lack of pre made parts and software made me choose the B737. But I really got a soft spot for the Mad Dog. These two pictures of the MD-80 just embrace what I love about those machines: Delta Departure and SAS departure.

Only thing I miss when flying jets is the possibility so do some VFR and visit smaller airport/airstrips with nice scenery. So perhaps a piston or a turboprop would be my number 2/3. But I am no that much in to GA, so the ATR would be a good choice.
    Best wishes, Peter

I'm having a blast flying the Majestic Dash 8 Q400 and I'm convinced that if I had it before I started my current build that would have been the plane of choice.
Majestic software will be releasing a Cockpit friendly version of their Dash soon, at just $170.

Actually, I was originally going to do an ATR-72, but Flight1 didn't want to release any info regarding offsets or LVars, which was a problem because most of the switches were the Korry type with annunciators. A few weeks later, I tried out Rick Piper's HS748, and instantly fell in love, eventually clocking twice as many hours as the ATR. I decided to use that as my cockpit, and since the gauges were not write protected and in XML, I had no need to contact any developers.

Re: If you could build a second cockpit...

For years I have thought about this and all worldly factors aside it would have to be a B727 complete with engineer station in a real nose with all original gauges/parts. Old school, baby!

I have a thing for flight engineer panels; that's why my second cockpit would be a Connie.
