Re: New member building a Dehavilland Dove.
Hi Geremy! Thanks for your reply ! I must say that sometimes when im trying to build a piece I wished I could buy some bits because it can be quite frustrating at times but when it works its so satisfying and fun ! And sometimes works better than ready to buy bits for my type of aircraft if at all available But a lot of work !

Re: New member building a Dehavilland Dove.
Hello everybody!
This is going to be the last update of this year.
A lot of work has been done this year, and a lot of work still has to be done!
The opencockpits airbus radio has been fitted . I bought this one because one box can do all and i dont have the space for more at this time.
A compartment had to be made to put it in:
I needed one because the vor, ndb and dme are now working, together with the compasses!!!
The dme unit is from flightillusion:
Also the rudder trim handle has been connected on the throttle box and is now working:
Taking the throttlebox out:
Also had some room for painting so i did that before the throttlebox was placed back again:
A video of the rudder trim working:
Most work has gone into getting the compasses , vor and ndb working.
Also the altimeters have been improved. The biggest challenge was to get the right stepper motors that are fast and strong enough or else you cant use the instruments to their full potential. Toghether with the sioc script it was a lot of work.
The making of the steppermotors platform:
Connecting the compass wires:
Installing the unit behind the dash, its getting full......:
The hsi and rmi's installed again:
Tried a panoramic picture with an iphone:
Here they are:
And a lot of fine tuning!!!
Some clips of it all working:
The adf and vor needles:
Compass turning:
Radio and dme:
Some testing to see if all the instruments keep up:
Take off from ehkd:
Approach ehkd: (i dropped my camera at the end sorry)
A lot of work needs to be done still but thats gonna be done next year!
Happy holidays everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

Wohnlich, I have a bad feeling that we won't be hearing from him anytime soon. We haven't heard anything in over a year.
