    Re: A320 FMGS beta 30

    Hi JL

With regards to the managed modes, I think it's down to the appropriate mode being selected and the reason im having trouble with this is im using a logitech joystick with one potentiometer acting as the thrust levers!!! I'm finding it hard to configure and select the right detents!!! So, I planned to purchase a typical saitek throttle quad in the hope I can properly program the range per detent!! Apart from that, is there any way of activating the various detents (CLB, FLEX ..TOGA etc) by means of a button or switch?? I couldnt see any reference to it in the button mapping page!!

Just a thought. It might serve me well in the future when building a proper A320 throttle quad because the detent click could activate a switch that triggers a mapped button to tell the system to go into CLB or FLEX etc!!

    Hope this makes sense!!!

    Cheers

    Jay

    Hi Jay,

Yes indeed, THR LVR calibration is critical.

As for the detents, no, this is not possible to use switches. The reason is, the ranges between each detent actually are active ranges (even between MCT and TOGA), thus an accurate potentiometer position is required on the complete LVR range.

I do use a cheap SAITEK joystick though, and it is enough. Just make sure you have big enough neutral zones between detents (on standard joystick, I use around 1500).

    Regards,
    JL

    Re: A320 FMGS beta 30

How do I go about changing the neutral zones?? Is this via the complex joystick application?

I appreciate your help with this!! My sim is work in progress!! Next stop - Opencockpits for some I/O cards!!!

    Cheers

    Jay

No, simply in FMGS_Config, each detent is declared as a position AND a neutral zone.

Complex joysticks feature is only for people mixing two pots or one pot and a reverser switch.

    Re: A320 FMGS beta 30

    Hi Jeehell

Regarding hectopascals or inhg in MCDU both can be entered in PERF APP I just tried it today in the real plane, and confirmed at FCOM

Just make sure the inhg value has a validation that it must be entered with the intermediate dot.

    FCOM at Aircraft systems says:

ATA DSC-22_20-50-30 AUTO FLIGHT - FLIGHT MANAGEMENT

CONTROLS AND INDICATORS - MCDU - DATA FORMAT LIST

    QNH
    Hecto-Pascals (hPa) PERF APPR (ACT/SEC (2))
    QNHNN.NN (leading and trailing zeros may be omitted). 28.06 - 31.01. (or 22.00 - 31.00 )In.Hg

    NNNN (leading zeromay be omitted). 950 - 1 050. (or 745 - 1050 )Hecto-Pascals (hPa)

    PERF APPR (ACT/SEC)

    Hope this helps

    Best Regards

    Adonis

    Hi,

OK thanks for the tip. I'll try to add that for next version.

    Re: A320 FMGS beta 30

    Hi JL,

I got a question in frame of our chat about the automatically introduced pitch down during flare (resulting in a back stick compensation). By the way, do you touch that in the next version to smooth it abit?

The ACFT sets the trim to zero after touchdown, fine. But what should happen in the real ACFT when you are retracting spoilers and putting the flaps back in TO config and initializing a touch-and-go? Do you stay at zero trim if you dont touch the trim manually? Or is there some sort of preset memorized before the landing which will be trimmed automatically when you put the throttle in TOGA?

And something different: When should the AUTO-LAND korry stop flashing?

    Looking forward ,
    Thank you!

    Robert

    Re: A320 FMGS beta 30

    Hi,

For now I haven't looked at the flare mode yet, and I don't know when I'll do it. Maybe for next version, we'll see.

The trim should reset to 0 when FBW goes from flare mode to ground mode, which is 5 seconds after ACFT touched ground. If the ACFT goes around, the pitch trim should freeze at the current position (so if it hasn't reached 0, it will stay at the position it currently is).
If it is at 0, it'll stay there, which is acceptable for all T/O.

AUTO-LAND korry: I need to work on the logic a bit.

    Regards,
    JL

    Re: A320 FMGS beta 30

    Good morning!

Using the FMGS for some flights and i really enjoy! But one issue. I cannot check the Save company route in the MCDU-Menu, altough INITA/B and FPLN and TOPERF-pages are complete. Did i missed one thing?

    Regards

    Henrik
