    Hi,

Is there any difference in functionality between the EL and the Pro?

    Thanks

Re: new full size budget MCP and EFIS

    Hi Phil,

Ok, I understand you can change the frontplate and make it look like a 747 MCP with the right switches on the right place but how do you go about e.g. getting all 3 A/P Engage lights to come on when you enable APP mode?
Does this require some hardware/software modifications to the unit as well or is there another trick to do this?

    Thanks!!!

Depends on how you see it. Functionality is the same but its all in the details.

The pro has dual concentric rotary switch/encoder combination for the heading and bank angle as per the real aircraft.
Pro has a solenoid autothrottle disconnect switch. The LE has a blinking lead instead of the sollenoid to show the autothrottle disconnection.

For the EFIS: the PRO has again functional concentric rotaryswitch/encoder combination for the baro and mins settings. Where with the LE you have to use a push and turn combination of the rotary here.

Further differences: The PRO has thicker panels, more expensive switches modeled after the new style mcp's, seperate bezels around the display windows, custom made metal knobs, styled after the real ones, etc. In general more detailed and more realistic for the pro.

But the functionality is the same. what you can do with one , you can do with the other, whereas you have to use some turn and push combinations on the LE because of the lack of the dual concentrics.

As far as i know the PRO is the only one on the consumer market with the functional dual concentrics and the solenoid autothrottle disconnect switch and details like the seperate displaybezels, etc.

Ive posted pictures of both units here on this forum and you can also check product pages on either ther FLYengravit or the CPflight website.
