PMDG vs PM
Hi All,
Just wanted to know the PM 737 Flight model compares in relation to PMDG..Or may be how realistic is the PM flight model for 737..

Pankaj,
It is very difficult to compare the two Items as you are doing.
You need to look at the options here and what you get. For instance for $50.00USD you can Buy PMDG Aircraft. Everything will operate in a very accurate depiction of how the real 737 Operates. You can interface the PMDG aircraft to your cockpit using Keyboard commands through various interface boards. You can pull some outputs from Flightsim for very few indications like Gear Up/Dn etc. However, Your system logic for the PMDG is limited when it comes to interfacing the simulator to your cockpit.
Project Magenta, is currently being used in Commercial Training devices all over the world. By networking multiple computers you can achieve Separate displays inputs and outputs that will be directly controlled through the software. Think of it as a Direct link from your hardware to Project Magenta . Project Magenta Will in fact run you in the thousand dollar range.
You need to see what you can afford. Picture the analogy, You can buy the Corvette or the Chevette.
A Chevette will get you from Home to the Store and Back. So will the Corvette, which would you rather drive?
Both Software is Accurate and Real. One is limited to what you can do to interface it to your hardware, the other is unlimited.
Hope that sums it up. Depending how advanced your cockpit will become, should tell you which software you require. There are some very advanced simulators on this site using PMDG as the platform. Westozy's cockpit is very advanced running PMDG all from one Computer.
You will have to look at your options, but don't think for a minute that they are even close to the same product. If you were talking to a motorcycle gang all driving Harley D. and you yelled to them Nice Honda, you probably wouldn't walk again LOL.
Best regards,
Trev________________________

I think what he's really asking is how the flight dynamics are between the two.
How acurately is each aircraft's flight characteristics modeled?
Unless you are rated in the aircraft there is really no telling how acurate they are.
I've never read on the PM site that any of their software was developed with rated 737 personnel to critique or help in developing the flight model.
Not to say they didn't, I've just never seen any mention made of it. For what they charge for the software, I would think they'd have a squadron of 737 flight crews working on PM.Boeing Skunk Works
Remember...140, 250, and REALLY FAST!
We don't need no stinkin' ETOPS!

Well if that is what he asking PMDG wins. PM does not have a flight model. In fact most of us PM users are using the PMDG flight model. It is the flexibility and realism and the system logic you get from PMSystems that we all like. PM works with a lot of flight models.

Thanks guys for your input.Yes thats what i was asking..Just looking to understand which of those both had realistic flight model...Now since PM does not have a flight model then the answer is obvious..So basically interface the systems using PmSystems and use the PMDG Flight model...

Well that is the basic idea, but... there is more to it then that. If you look on this site for Westozy, you will see a gent who has built his entire sim from just PMDG. You might want to look at that. To use PMDG and other air craft (the ones that have there own AP and do not use FS's) have to have there panels removed to work with PM.

I use PMDG all the time but I still think the Kittyhawk 737 has the best flight model.

I did try this aircraft now.But frankly I am not impressed with the Flight model.
It still seems to me like the default FS Flight model.Very unstable and not uncontrollable ..Tough to fly this model manually...Thanks for your input Westozy...Will definitely ping u on Sim Boards...
