    FSX freezes on menu selections

    When I try to choose Aircraft, Airport, Time and Season or Flight Planner from the opening screen in FSX it pauses, I click again and the screen grays out and a popup window asks if I want to close the program or wait. If I wait, it takes 2 or 3 minutes for the selection to appear. After the first time though, menu items will open normally. I don't know what FSX is looking for or what causes this lag but it has happened with every installation of FSX I have done the past couple of years. Are others having this problem?
