New FCU backlighting question?
Hi,
I'm wondering if the white backlighting used in the new FCU is accurate- is it flying in real a320s today? The reason I ask is that most photos/videos of a320 cockpits show yellow or orange backlighting.
Thanks

Yes white Backlighting is accurate in the real plane the newer ones apparenttly use like White Led type backlighting and the other use Lamps which gives it the Yellowish colour.

I see -- I was concerned, given the ammount of orange/yellow backlighting in photos.
But what about the backlighting color of the OH panels on the newer planes -- still orange?

Actually flew today in one of the newer planes in our fleet and the lettering has the yellowish backlight so yupe they are yellow LEDīs o lamps... Of course all panels are backlit the same way...

So the FCU is White, and the OH is Yellow? Is the new FCU accurate then?

the newer Airbus illumination is Hi intensity yellow LED's, they do give a more orange apperence though.
However I think (may be wrong) aircraft built before 98 are white bulb types.
The green parts on airbus panels are illuminated by pure green 1206 LED's, blue are illuminated by standard blue 1206 LED's and the yellow parts are illuminated by standard green 1206 LED's.
I know all the pedistal stuff on the post 98 aircraft are illuminated by the same Hi Yellow LED.
Hope this helps

Ok, thanks
So, then the new engracity FCU is not updated to today's a320s, am I correct? Or is the FCU a different scheme than the other panels?
Also, the numerous "pumpkin" orange FCU's are older models i assume?
FDS uses orange. No dealer seems to produce panels with green/blue parts lit.
There is a market for you Phill, get to work
