PMSounds calling out minima ...
To the many simmers which are PMSounds users ...
Did anybody (confronted with a CAT I ILS or a non precision approach) succeed - and how - in getting PMSounds calling out "approaching minimums" and "minimums" when related to a given DH (baro altimeter) instead of a DA (radio altimeter) ?
Thanks for sharing ...

Hello,
There may be an easier way, but this is something you can do:
1.- Define an inhibit bit for the approaching minimums and minimums sounds in the pmSounds.ini file.
2.- Go to pmSystems and program in the aircraft logic file to enabe the bit you just defined when making a non precision approach (no ILS button enabled, or no LOC alive, ...).Luis Gordo

Nope ...
I'm afraid I didn't express myself clearly enough.
The problem is, and I was in hopes to see if anybody else was reporting it, that offset 04FA produces PMSound callouts only when set to a DH (positive values for the offset), and not also when set to a DA (negative values for the offset). By the way, all these values can only be expressed in 10s of feet ...
Therefore, when you execute a CAT I ILS or a non precision approach, for which you set a DA, you won't hear any "minimums" callout ...
You can only inhibit what's gonna be played without inhibition, and that's alright, but that doesn't solve the problem, I'm afraid ...
Do you agree ?Happy landings and always three greens !!

I am sorry, I must be a little slow here, but I have been flying Flightsim for years and years and years, Would you please explain for me why you would ever set a negative value for the decision height on the PFD. I didn't even know that was possible.
Best regards,

it's okay ...
Trevor, I guess we're both correct in our statements.
On the PFD, via the knob located on the EFIS control panel, you can only set positive values for RADIO/BARO minimums ...
But I had specified that the negative value was referred only "for the offset" , that means internally to PM software ... not in reality (DA and DH are always positive !).
At least this I what I wrote after checking with the PM offset list, namely looking at the values for the offset 04FA, which is dedicated to the Captain's DH/DA, and where the documentation states:
Captain Decision Height (10s of feet, 200 ft = 20, 1050 ft = 105, negative value is MDA) (Read/Write).
Same indications (with reference to a negative value) for the offset 5532 which sets the F/O's DH/DA.
Is it clearer now ?
Then, if you use PM with PMSounds, too, what happens to your non precision approaches when reaching the DA ?
Can you hear "Approaching minimums" and "Minimums" called by PMSounds, or not ?
That was my initial question, since I don't get these calls (but I know I should get them), so I wondered if there was a workaround for this ...
Any help appreciated !!!
