RE: 3rd monitor not in Display Properties...
Jaaky,
Further to my last.
I've read the MS article slowly and don't think it is relevant to your
problem.
This page is telling you which cards they automatically (natively)
supported
for two monitors off of the SAME card via 'dualview' or 'multiple monitor
feature'.
You are trying to run TWO cards which this article doesn't mention.
I admit I might be missing the point as I don't really know what you are
trying to do, but taking the simple approach and just reading what you are
saying, I'd keep trying. And really hope a better oldfart than me can
help.
Steve

Mmmm... It looks like I will have to buy another display adapter. Win XP
only support few PCI cards.

Re: 3rd monitor not in Display Properties...
Hi Steve,
Thanks for the encouraging words.
What I'm trying to do is simply wanting to connect a third monitor for
which
I need an extra PCI videocard in my machine. however, it turns out that XP
is A LOT more restrictive in the kind of display cards one can use, then
former Windows versions...
I first came the same conclusion a you because of the word "native" (which
I
understand as "driver suplied by the OS").
but googling on the subject and seeing that people had the same problem
then
cured it by using a card "from the list" makes me doubt...
So in essence, yes I have given up and will tomorrow morning go in search
of
another PCI card ( hopefully find a Geforce3).Does not have to be a
"monster" as that monitor only is used to display my throttle quadrant and
FMC, or the overhead panel).
Cheers,
Jaaky

RE: 3rd monitor not in Display Properties...
Jaaky,
Equal? Mmm, I guess we don't all smell like me , but some of us are
vegetarian. (Perhaps why I smell!)
I've just been up in my loft to see what PCI cards I could find, but
although I suspect others, I could only find two that were not on the MS
list. (Both based around cards for ATP)
If I had found one, I would have posted it to you to make use of.
But I still have a problem with the card list (you provided via MS) in as
much as my weather station is using a Matrox G200 and that is an AGP card.
Your use of the word 'native' was correct.
I don't know how to search Google for PCI and AGP and 3 cards and 3
monitors, or I would. I'd better get back to studying maths as that's the
reason I've hidden upstairs this evening (Don't worry, I've a corkscrew
and cold wine at hand.)
Steve
p.s.
My weather station is www.thatcham-weather.info
p.p.s.
The site that really has to be updated is www.jasminekelly.info as she was
1
year old on the same day Andras's daughter Veda was (sorry I forgot Andras,
but I had other things like a 1st party on my mind).

Re: 3rd monitor not in Display Properties...
Steve,
In retrospect, I think it has to do with the "mini-driver" wich is, the
OS-part of the driver , if I remember correctly...(most people do not
realize that a driver actually consists of two parts).
Well I'm off now, found a shop that has a Raedon PCI card...
Will only be able to test it out tomorrow though... busy busy busy...
