Does anyone have an opinion? CH Yoke GP to USB

I have a chance to buy a very cheap CH yoke and pedals, but it's game port.

I'm pretty handy at building pcb etc.

Is it worth buying them, gutting out the analogue stuff and putting usb based interface boards into them?

    What's your thoughts?

    Hi David,
Cant vouch for the CH yoke, but i converted a game port pedals, no problems and if you dont have pedals you wont regrett it. Cant see why the yoke should be a problem as it is probably only pots and they should be easily handled by any the common i/f that are recognised in windows. If its cheap enough go for it.

    Thanks Les.

It's yoke and pedals (although not really interested in the pedals as I have the Saitek pedals).

Just an update, I just bought both the pedals and yoke on ebay for $24.00

I think that not too bad a price.

That is a good deal. The pots alone are worth that. The components are easy to remove. The only downside is the pots' shaft are not threaded, so if you re-use them you will have to make a bracket for them.

Re: Does anyone have an opinion? CH Yoke GP to USB

I have converted Elite Game Port Rudder Pedals, and an old Thrustmaster Fighter Jet Style Rudder assembly by using two different Game Port to USB adapters....

The Thrustmaster Rudders only would work using a Radio Shack adapter, that had a four position switch (Game Wheel, Joystick 1, Joystick 2, and ????) Which I have not been able to find anymore, as they are discontinued, but the Elite Rudder set worked with a generic adapter from Ebay.

Note I have bought more of these from EBay, that were bunk, the black ones did not even have any cabling run through to the two ends, but the whiteish/tan ones worked just fine....

No PCB work needed, for me at least.

    Good Luck!

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input.

I'll pick them up in the next couple of days, pull them apart and look at the option.

I have already built an Mjoy board, so I may just use that.
