Boeing aircrafts with PM, exept 737?
Hi all,
i use to fly with a Boeing 737 (700 or 800) but some times i need to make a change and fly with other Boeing aircrafts.
So does anyone has a complete setup for 747-400, or 757, 767, 777 ?
Do you have these txt files for CDU?
Which aircraft do you have in FS ? (air files, mdl, cfg etc?), exept default ones?

Hello,
I'm flying only with the B744, as I have my own B747-400 cockpit project.
It's a big pitty I can't use pmdg airfile/flightdynamics for the cockpit, but actually I'm using the one modified by Pedro Oliveira (search on flightsim.com for FDE)
There is a cdu file on Enrico's site for it aswell, but I think its a little outdated. If you like I can send you a more actually version.
What the PM software concerns for the B744, it isn't that detailled as the B737 (on which PM is now focussing I think), but together with PMSystem a lot can already be done. I wished Thomas Richter could do the same for the B744 as he did for the B737 to have an excellent simulation of the aircraft systems.

I think that PM's idea is to do all the aircraft they model in the same way they have done the 737. One of the problems is having someone that knows the systems of the aircraft and how to program PMSystems! Thomas knows the 737 because it was his project, I may be wrong, but I would think he does not understand the systems of 74 as well so he needs to learn them. So in time I think you will see what you are looking for.

Hi Bob,
Yep I'm aware of it. I have a rather good knowledge of the B744 systems, but my skills of programming PMSystem are very limited. I'm planning to contact Thomas in the near futurv to see what he can do and where I can be of any help. Nevertheless there are also a lot of hard programming involved of the different other PM prg's (GC,MCP,CDU) were the only one who can do something is Enrico himselfs.
The most important problem is time I think and the very limited users of our types beside of the B738. It looks in the present simulator world, everyone is building a B738 cockpit and all the hardware/software producers are following that trend.
Hi Eddie,
Will send the file as soon as possible.
Greetings

I agree with you Michel. The mid-range aircraft which trust almost all fs-builders is the 737NG
In example when i was thinking to buy PM's s/w before 3-4 years ago, i loved Airbus, but i choose Boeing, a Boeing737.
After all the years i can see i was not wrong, because with Airbus i didn't have many choices to find a good aircraft and not so many hardware choices at fs-stores to buy Airbus elements. PM's s/w as i read is better in Boeing than Airbus.
From the other hand 737 is a mid range aircraft you can use it in short flights and medium/small airports if you want to make a short flight or a domestic one, but also covers mid range flights 4-5 hours.
747 was the Queen, you can see the difference from her cockpit, but you can not fly her for short domestic flights.
Thanks again for your help,
Eddie

Hi Eddie,
Yes that's is indeed true, but nevertheless it is perfectly possible to fly rather shorts trips with the B744. In real life some airlines are also doing that, for exemple Singapore Airlines used to do Brussels - Zurich - Singapore, or some freighters are also making flights between London for exemple and Brussels, with continuation to the far east afterwards.
Of course a good fuel management and Landing Weight calculation must be done.
Flying to small airports with short rwy's is not useful possible with B744. (Like all the beautiful Greecs Islands)
The Queens cockpit looks indeed much more modern.
The major problem is the lack of a good airfile/flight dynamics for our cockpit projects as the only really good one is PMDG B744 and this itsn't compatible at all.
